I'd like to see Willock on the left, from the start. Give Maxi a day off. Almiron has to start on the right?? Or do we rest him for the bigger games to come? He's so energetic it's hard to believe he needs a rest so stick with him, subject to medical advice. Rest Shelvey for Longstaff, and bring in De Bolle for Joelinton.

You need players who can mix it up, not a team who can mix it up. No point having a passer on the left and a dribbler on the right [or vice versa] both players need to keep the defence guessing.

I'm just saying that in order to improve, incrementally, we could splash most of our budget on a first choice striker and be prudent with new backups, that would have the benefit of Howe's coaching before being called upon. Buying three star players to come straight in could upset the brilliant balance we have. That said, we have a 100% success rate with transfers so I probably shouldn't worry.

RW I'm waiting to see what Almiron can do in the last 5 games. I love the lad and hope he can make that position his own. It'll probably take something beyond his reach to convince some on here, but I've got faith. AM is similar. would love to see WIllock make that position his own, but he could also be adapt to play on the left. Would love to sign Cannibaga to keep Bruno happy, so would be happy to see that.

If Wood doesn't sign, we lose to Watford, IMO. The draw was disappointing enough, but the performance was encouraging. If we'd lost the mood would have been a lot worse. No way we beat Leeds. Our bonding session then becomes a troubleshooting exercise, and we're fucked. Burn and Bruno rushed into a team low on confidence would have been disastrous.

And yet his commitment to take us to the level that renders him obsolete, is clear to see.

Yeah. I'm not sure on CB back-up. I think Lascelles and Dummett could be relied upon, just not sure they're good enough. And neither put pressure on the first team. Don't think Burn needs any motivation, like. And Schar seems to perform better, knowing he's first choice. I'm just thinking if the owners don't want to spend too much, this summer we might end up only signing a top forward. And I wouldn't be too disappointed. That said the 3 games after Norwich should give us a better idea of what we need. If we're to be a genuine top 8 team then we have to be able to at least compete with the top 6.

I'll be happy consolidating 8th, after this season.

The way he played that pass for Almiron, was like Ronnie O'Sullivan getting out of a snooker.

While he hasn't set the world on fire, he is possibly the most important signing we made in Jan. If Wilson had stayed fit things would be different, but the difference he made to our team shape against Watford, compared to what we put out against Cambridge, stopped a rot and provided a latform to build upon. Wlson stays fit we take our time getting in cover, but the decision to move quickly for Wood was inspired.

Just hope we adopt the best bits of each other. Like I wouldn't want Saudi Arabia to suddenly adopt our drinking culture.
