Anybody seen the new Jimmy Saville documentary?
-
Think it's too soon to say. still only 24/25 isn't he? 6 months adapting to a new role, no reason he can't perfect that role in the coming years. The mentality and desire is clearly there.
-
Always thought when/if he got fit he would be a productive player. Was never going to get fit under the slug, who just waits for players to regain fitness.
-
You're not. The keeper makes a decision that influences the decision of the striker, the keeper needs to justify that decision by winning the ball cleanly.
-
Froggy giving us a masterclass on why.
-
Last thing we need. Would rather see him struggle to adapt until the end of the season.
-
It was on special offer like.
-
I wouldn't even write off the tougher games. If we can keep focus for 90 mins we'll be hard to beat against anybody. I'm not expecting anything from Liverpool and Man City, but I'm not expecting nothing, either.
-
If the keeper doesn't come charging out Wood shoots. If the keeper doesn't get to the ball, it's a foul.

Newcastle United vs Leicester City, Sunday 17/4/2022 @ 14:15 (SKY)
Happinesstan replied to LRD's topic in Football
Not sure how much a changed team will improve our chances. Leicester have little to play for in the league, and their first team could well be on the beach if they weren't in Europe. Giving the second string a chance to prove themselves might mean a tougher game. -
Newcastle United 1 - 0 Wolverhampton Wanderers (08/04/2022)

Always liked the music, but his pitiful attempts at being Mick Jagger made watching him nigh on impossible. -

Pop him in his mouth, whole. Balance him on his teeth and karate chop him with his tongue? Pretty sure the rulebook says nothing about that. -
Is he not allowed to pay tribute to Al Jolson?

I think we know they'll turn up, just can't be sue they'll still be there come the second half. These are beatable and we have no reason to fear them, but they could also beat us, on their day, so a good game, and a point would be satisfactory. -
A couple of draws is the most we really need. Obviously hoping for more, and if we win the next two, mathematic certainty will be reached. While I'm not yet celebrating survival, I'm not worrying one bit about relegation.
-
Exactly. I know it's a bit much for the average referee to consider, but Wood's first touch is necessitated by the keeper's decision to come out, if the keeper then fucks up, it's a pen, in my eyes.
-
Maybe now we're exploiting it, things will change.
-
That's a valuable insight. I wasn't too sure if we controlled the first half, or if Wolves did, by allowing us to. Their mini resurgence at the beginning of the second half did worry me that they had played it to a tee, although they never came close. Oddly reassuring to know that our performance levels dropped.
-
Exactly. The margins for success are tiny but the rewards can be big. If his fitness doesn't match his ability he's going to fail more often than not.
-
I've yet to see him scratch his balls, too.
-
He's not getting credit for 5 points like. 3 in 8 for that cunt. Jones did better with 2 in 3.
-
Good signs last night as 6 months ago the atmosphere would have turned toxic after 30 mins. I say it all the time our fanbase is a godsend when content-delighted. They're our worst enemy when the mood is hostile.
-
He's absolutely correct. In the last 16 weeks or so, the only time we've looked remotely like a relegation threatened team was for 45 mins against Spurs.

Emil Krafth to leave club at end of the season (Official)
Happinesstan replied to Nobody's topic in Football
Manquillo seems to require a couple of games to settle in. Not really useful in a backup that might only get 2-3 games at a time. Manquillo would be my preference of the two for first choice, but Krafth looks a little more reliable as back-up. -
It's great that they still contribute to the overall mood, too. They all must be aware that their time at the club is over, but Howe has instilled in all of them the very ting that Wood commented on. They're all desperate to take the club to the next level, even though they know they probably won't be part of it.
