  1. I'm not sure I'd call today one of his worse performances. A lot of things didn't work, possibly due to a lack of sharpness, but his desire never faded. If anything his desire overwhelmed him at times. But that's not a bad thing. Looking forward to see him next season, after everything has calmed down a bit.
  2. Talk of the atmosphere needs to take into consideration that we controlled the game for long periods, but Wolves managed to nullify us. just over 6 months ago the atmosphere would have turned toxic.
  3. Lol. Newcastle set to break record levels of healthy living.
  4. He's the one I visualise as I fall asleep to Doug Stanhope's '60 inches of AIDS'.
  5. Yea. He's stepped into the team with the same assuredness that Trippier did. Showing a simple quality that we have been devoid of for so long. Another 9 players at that level and we're set, lol. Seriously though, another 3 or 4 in the summer, with a few hopeful prospects, will be spot on. Really don't think we need to worry about the defence too much if we can be more imposing in the opposition's territory. Burn, Schar and Targett are probably the three players closest to the other two, in terms of quality.

    Dan Burn

Maybe when we reach Europe, next season.
  7. It's also refreshing to see the interviewee afford the same courtesy.
  8. He wasn't called upon to do much, but when he was he stepped up. An unremarkable performance, but nothing to complain about. Somebody mentioned, before the game that there might be the risk of Shelvey and Bruno stepping on each others toes, and I think Jonjo's instructions may have covered this. He basically allowed Bruno to take control.
  9. It seemed to start out really wild, then die down after the disallowed goal. I think if that had stood it would have been different. Anyway, sorry your night was spoiled but we did get 3 points, and a clean sheet in amongst that atmosphere so maybe we needed a bit of calm, for once. Players seemed to enjoy it.
  10. Wee you at the game? I have to say it sounded flat on the "telly", but everybody commented on the atmosphere in the interviews after, so I couldn't be sure.
  11. Has he still only scored that one goal against Brighton's 2nd choice defence? Love it.
  12. Another thing I might have imagined during the post match interview with Wood. How much joy is Jamie Carragher getting out of this? Never really liked him, but he's loving it. The past 14 years pundits have been coming to a simmering, rage-filled cesspool that probably left a sour taste [as if I care], but it all contributes to us becoming a top club.
  13. Absolute credit to the club. Indeed. I liked the way he seemed to shrink a little, when talking about the city and fans. It just felt very respectful, as if he was more than happy to take a back seat to it. Dunno if I imagined it.
  14. Got all the characteristics to be a top manager like. His dealing with the media is impeccable, love it when he acknowledges a "good" question. Never hides from anything. He's also shown he is brilliant at getting the best out of a squad of players. Just need to improve the quality.
  15. Some early over-reactions to his somewhat frustrating performance, but he never stopped trying and his little touch was probably the difference between winning and drawing. Delighted for him because I think nobody gets more frustrated by his lack of success than him. Wouldn't entertain the idea of getting rid of him, but I would consider bringing in a more rounded player with a bigger reputation, and force him to fight for his place.
  16. Well ye knerrr, If I could've spent the second highest transfer budget ever, I can assure yus, yus would notice the difference. Are you callin' me a liar?
  17. Just thinking, Burn was tremendous before that cunt took his head off. We say he lost his head against Everton, but can we be sure he ever got it back?
  18. We had a PE teacher that we called Afghan on account of his resemblance to the hound. He didn't like us one bit.
