  1. He’s better than Dubravka. If it’s a stop gap loan, it’s fine.
  2. Howay, Southampton could have had Lev Yashin and Buffon in goal at the same time last season and they would have still conceded more than anybody else.
  3. Disagree. Think he’s significantly better than Dubs. Not saying a great deal that mind.
  4. Aye. Significant upgrade on Dubravka. Run with Pope as No.1 for another season then reassess.
  5. My mate sent me a WhatsApp yesterday about this claiming it was from ‘Shearer’s mate’. I gave it zero credence. Seems I was wrong…
  6. Tbf, I don’t think there’s too much wrong with Option 4 really, (I believe it was actually proposed by NUSC), they just need to add a bit of transparency with it and I don’t think too many would complain.
  7. All that does is fuel constant claims that tickets are being siphoned off elsewhere. How hard can it be to say ‘our allocation is X’? Then announce what the cut off was in terms of points it sold out on. Just setting themselves up to get unnecessary aggravation.
  8. They have brought in (limited) transfers now tbf. So there is at least a legitimate way to attend an away game without owning a ST, even if it does depend on ‘knowing someone’.
  9. Actually, one other thing I’ve just realised is that, assuming your application is successful, you get to pick your own seats, which is definitely better. I also think it means away travel groups are now obsolete. Not sure if that means that you have to have linked accounts with people you want to sit next to, so one person can select all the tickets at the same time (assuming you’ve all been successful)?
  10. In theory, neither really. It should speed the whole process up, which is probably a necessity given the amount of games we’ll have. You will have to be more on the ball with dates and stuff, as you miss the 24 hr application window and you’re knackered basically. And obviously they need to make sure they are transparent with allocation numbers and sell out points, otherwise there’ll be endless accusations of ‘corporate taking all the tickets now’.
  11. Option 4 has won out in the away ticket procedure change: https://www.newcastleunited.com/en/news/newcastle-united-to-implement-new-away-ticketing-process-for-2025-26-season

Longstaff only had one year left on his contract, as well as being homegrown.
  13. Doubt it. Back in the days when when teams were just allowed to chuck money at it, loads of them would have just filled their squad with expensive foreign players.
  14. Going on loan to Leyton Orient according to Ryder.

    Tino Livramento

At one point he seemed to get team news before it was released, and was pretty reliable on that score. Then it seemed to go to his head and he started claiming he was ITK about to everything, until he morphed into a pound-shop Burnsie.

Tbf, although you could say you should never demand to leave a club full stop, without knowing the situations of Isak or Wissa, and what either has or hasn’t been promised, it’s a bit of a leap to come to a definitive conclusion about either.

He’d probably argue he repaid them by banging in a load of goals last season when their superstar replacement for Toney was injured all season.

Unless someone else comes in for him, it seems unlikely there isn’t a resolution found that results in him eventually ending up with us.

Ryder says we’re still “locked in talks”.
  20. When browsing the Forest board to find their views on Elanga, it was obviously the time the news broke about MGW and Spurs. I’d say 90% viewed him as absolute scum. I’d imagine that % is somewhat lower now. Just shows how quick football fans can change their perception of a player. So any “no way back for Isak now” is absolute bollocks

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

There’s been absolutely numerous worse windows than this in the not too distant past. Unfortunately a combination of our expectations and how every tiny little thing is played out across social media, clouds our judgement into thinking this “is the worst I’ve ever known it”.

Only if we had a gentleman’s agreement with him we’d sell him for £100m
