Was the post: “Would love big Jimmy T at tha Toon, me like”
-
Almost like he’s not being fed a line on this one to suit an agenda of either the selling club or a rival bidder….
-
I’d wager he gets minutes in virtually every single game he’s available for.
-
Chelsea absolutely need another striker like, having only spent 100m on strikers this window.
-
Would there be a better ‘back-up’ striker in the league? Wouldn’t call Marmoush ‘back-up’ as he’ll probably play more often than not. Nunez? Richarlison? Nketia? Delap? Muniz?
-
Personally not convinced by him, but yes, they may think he’s also ready to step up.
-
They signed a Brazilian last season but he hardly played due to injury. Their fans seem to have high hopes for him. Agree it seems like a massive risk though.
-
Cos we think the player wants to sign for us? So you bid and get the players head turned, then the selling club are more likely to accept 30/35m? *obviously this is perfectly acceptable when we’re doing it, but should anyone try it with Isak and it is a DISGRACE
-
100% allowed when said club is us tbf
-
“Alright, you’re Muslim and you don’t drink, but that’s not the point”
-
When you’re on PL wages, I think the short answer, is absolutely not.
-
We’re not up against interest from a Chelsea or Liverpool this time though (it would seem anyway…) Spurs could well outbid us, but they’re often loathe to ‘overpay’ more than we are. Forest are a tad unpredictable with the fat Greek, but would still be surprised if they went higher than we did. Whether Brentford hold tight on wanting ~50m when it seems his heads been turned, we’ll see. Hopefully they come closer to what we’ll be willing to pay.
-
Aye, they’ll sell if they get near enough to the price they want.
-
Costa links seem to have been rubbished. Spending 100m on two new keepers did seem a big fanciful, even for them.
-
Hopefully you’re right. But if they do sign him and Ederson leaves, I’m fairly sure he’ll be their No.1.
-
Yes, but to be Man City’s number one, he just has to be better than the other keepers available. If we assume Ederson leaves, there’s only Ortega to beat (think Carson’s left and assume there’s not some outstanding youngster ready to step up).
-
That’s a bold claim. Who are they definitely finishing ahead of in your opinion? Not saying I agree, but would give you Burnley, Leeds, Brentford and Wolves. Saying they are definitely finishing ahead above any of the other 15 is fairly wild.
-
You wouldn’t pick him over Ortega?
-
What about Le Fee? He must of been on a canny amount unless Roma were covering some (which I doubt was the case, and obviously isn’t now they’ve signed him).
-
Thought he’d be on more than 70k at Leverkusen. Presume he’ll still be Sunderland’s top earner by a distance, but maybe not by as much as I originally thought. When you look at Leverkusen’s reported wages, it’s beyond remarkable they did what they did two seasons ago. Alonso throughly earnt that Madrid gig.

Are we sure he’s not signing for Sunderland?

Well the first thing this new government regulator should be doing is looking at ways to prevent these resale sites from being able to openly offer football tickets at above face value. I know it’s apparently difficult because they all operate out of foreign countries, but if they really, really wanted to, I’m sure they could legislate to at least make it considerably more difficult to do.
