  1. If that was the case, surely someone else (Chelsea…) would have already done it?

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

He looked absolutely woeful at West Ham last season.

    Anthony Elanga

He was actually in the top 10 players in the league for shooting accuracy last season, so that doesn’t stack up at all.
  4. If ever there was someone to break the the no dickheads policy…

As well as their captain and keeper…

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Obviously Wood splits opinion. Kelly, you could say we got lucky with. Osula still has pretty much everything to prove (although it does look promising long term).
  7. So basically tomorrow’s announcement is a waste of time in terms of the September fixtures
  8. I think one of the main questions going forward is, is a member with 1 point, ahead of a ST holder with 0 points? If not, the whole thing seems utterly pointless.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Only realistic option would be Spurs I think. Could say Man Utd, be I doubt they’d go for him. But agree, unlikely Brentford sell.

    Anthony Elanga

    Work ethic unmatched

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I actually think he may do. But I also think it’s unlikely Brentford sell, given all the other players they’ve lost.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Would be somewhat hilarious if we nipped in and signed Wissa, prompting them to tell Man Utd Mbeumo was no longer for sale…

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Reading the Brentford forum they don’t seem to think they would sell him (for a sensible fee) as well as Mbeumo. They might well be right. Already lost their manager, captain, keeper, (arguably) best player (if it goes through, so I doubt they feel inclined to chuck their top scorer in there too. Turned down £18m+£4m from Forest in January, so it probably takes a fair bit more than that, even with the contract situation.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Watkins seems incredibly unlikely. Presumably a very hefty fee and associated wages, and didn’t particularly seem overly happy to share responsibilities with Duran when he was the A side of that, so surely would be even less happy when he’s the B side with Isak? Wissa, still seems unlikely, but the more I think about it, not completely so. Realistically, his only chance of CL football (whilst staying in the PL) is to come as backup somewhere. On low wages at Brentford, so offering a significant raise wouldn’t be a problem. Is he definitely coming to last year of his contract, or did I read somewhere Brentford had a years option so it was effectively two years left? If it is one, it’s definitely worth exploring, as he’s far better than I thought we could get/afford for that role.
  15. For every one of the four home grown spots you don’t fill, you lose a squad place. So without Longstaff we’ll only be able to register 21. Miley doesn’t need registering. There was also a bit of debate about whether Hall does, but in the end I think it was decided he does. Willock is missing from the list though. edit - Burn’s missing as well

    Delayed by about two hours
  17. Maybe. I certainly don’t know foreign markets well enough to comment, but you can see from the fees for the likes of Cunha, Mbeumo and Pedro, they don’t come cheap (I know people will say PL tax etc…), so you better be sure they can genuinely cover the multiple positions you think they can.
  18. I remember there was a young lad sitting a few rows in front of me that season who had a new top with Riviere 29 on the back. He stuck it out every match until about November, then it was never seen again.
  19. If we’re unable to get a dual purpose player, like Mbeumo or Pedro, for backup to Isak, I’m intrigued to know what level of player people think we’re able to attract/afford as backup striker?

These are all very good, but you need to accept it’s going to be: ”OH ANTHONY ELANGA”

    What’s a good offer for a 33yo with 1 year left? £5m? Less?

Some kid getting slaughtered for being 69

Presumably because he has enough self—confidence to think he’ll earn it without having to be guaranteed it.
