Pope’s out of contract next summer. Debatable how much we’d get selling now, so we might think it’s worth the hit of letting him go for free next year, after a year of making sure Trafford has had to fight to be number one.
-
Think Chelsea will just wait for Maignan’s contract to expire next summer.
-
Ben Jacobs says 30. Choose your fighter…
-
Once he does get in ahead of Pope we can expect medical emergencies in the East Stand to drop by at least 50%.
-
Always felt confident about this one after hearing his comments on Ben Foster’s podcast last week. He’s obviously very keen to get here.

Breaking on SSN now

Tbh it probably won’t make any difference. If you’re working on a deal, you just keep going, but you can’t put the final paperwork in til Monday.

Not unless we particularly have someone we want rid of.

They’d struggle to pay half of what he’d want in wages.

Can he cut it in the Turkish Super Lig though??
-
And he’s been proven correct with at least two of those…

Looks like he’s about to charge someone three grand for a steak.

Be interesting to see how they approach it. Sticking exclusively with the ‘youngsters with potential’ route will almost certainly get them relegated unless they scout some real good ones (generational talents you might say…) from somewhere. So how far do they shift to more established players in an effort to keep themselves up?

If you’re factoring in increased wages for being in the PL, you probably have to consider the substantially increased revenue they’ll get just for being there. Not that either are directly relevant to how much they’ve made from selling Bellingham.

👍 And probably difficult to make a fully informed opinion until we know what we’ve got when the window shuts.

This is from the Athletic Brighton reporter the other day. Seems to think they’ll sell:

Understand the concerns, but what has me confident that it won’t be the case is that Eddie experienced what happened last time. As I’ve said before, since he’s been here he’s been exceptional at learning from and rectifying setbacks. He now knows what we need for a CL campaign and I’m sure he’ll spend the budget accordingly.

Will be fine as long as we don’t sign Van Hecke.
-
Won’t be confident on this one until we get a ‘here we go’ from Fab…
