In the last match cam that showed the celebrations on the pitch, there was a bit where Eddie was embracing Eales, and whilst you couldn’t hear what was being said, it looked like Eddie was thanking him for everything he’d done. It looked absolutely genuine on both sides, and there didn’t appear to be the slightest bit of animosity. But, maybe Eddie’s just a magnificent human that doesn’t hold unnecessary grudges 🤷‍♂️

My own personal choice would actually be Atletico too. From the outside looking in, the Metropolitano has similar vibes to Dortmund about it, so I’d like to experience that. But there’s definitely a fascination to see us playing in front of a 100k crowd.

In an ideal world yes, but you can’t just magic things up to get round it. We haven’t got a hotel to sell. Our women’s team aren’t in the WSL so aren’t as ‘valuable’. As it is the whole Anderson/Vladdy deal was a massive bend of the rules. We did as much as we could without venturing into the realms of something we would get punished for.

So, breach PSR by something like ~£75m? Suspect they’d probably have relegated us rather than given us a 4-5 point deduction.

I think the “not fit for purpose” comment has been / is taken massively out of context (or maybe he just didn’t explain it very well). There was nothing wrong with how we went about our transfer business after the takeover. Quite the opposite, it’s proved to be excellent and has allowed us to get where we’ve got. But it needed to change. We couldn’t continue spending the way we spent, with very little coming in the other way. So in that sense it wasn’t “fit for purpose” to continue with that strategy. That’s how I’ve interpreted what he meant anyway. But given the consternation it’s caused, he’d probably have been better off saying nowt.

There is qualifying. The pots that have been posted just include the teams in qualifying with the highest coefficients, so are therefore ‘expected’ to qualify. Celtic have to qualify yet.
