Agreed, but that (sadly) isn’t what drives the numbers these days is it? Not exactly the same, but Man Utd’s ludicrous run of televised FA Cup games told us everything we needed to know about the criteria for choosing TV games.
-
Thing is in European weeks, there’s often not a lot of choice, other than leaving a slot empty. Tomorrow they basically had to pick from: Bournemouth v Burnley Arsenal v Sheff Utd Wolves v Newcastle Arsenal game potentially a bit one-sided and 37 people would have watched Bournemouth v Burnley.

Unless the Bournemouth ticket is corporate? Suppose we’ll see if and when he puts up any videos from the match.

Everybody heading in at about 7pm again?

Garth Crooks is absolutely mental though.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
SteV replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
More than happy for Man Utd to drop into the Europa but have a decent run to rack up the coefficient points that way. -
Tbf, if you looked at some of Schar’s performances before Eddie rocked up, you’d probably see similar. Obviously not wanting to compare Hodgson to Bruce, but playing under Eddie just seems to have a magical effect on players.

And what has your Twitter thread about it been hijacked with? ?? https://x.com/davidpick1987/status/1716544431854174516?s=46&t=OQLMckSuatbpqWF13Al4mQ

Think that photo was from Sunday. Although not sure if it was just his lawyers or whoever at this supposed hearing today.
-
Yeah, if they gave him the replacement ticket, it does seem odd if they’ve removed the points anyway? Who knows ??♂️ but I reckon the box office won’t mind a story or two like this coming out as it probably increases the deterrent factor, which is what they’re after.

I think it would be best if he sorted his own issues out via therapy or whatever before we start packing him off to try and teach others.
-
If it’s as he describes in the thread, I would suspect he shouldn’t have an issue getting them reinstated. Seems unnecessarily heavy-handed from the club though. Perhaps wanting to get the word out that they genuinely are taking points away…
-
Yeah, unless you can find someone to give you a lift, you won’t be getting back to Carlise without leaving the game early. I would suggest searching social media for any NUFC Cumbria Supporters groups. That’s probably your best bet of finding a lift.

Official UEFA Champions League account promoting an upcoming week of games with a Jacob Murphy pic. Mental.

Yeah, I think unofficially they’d probably be quite happy to turn a blind eye to selling on if the numbers involved were small enough to not be making a material difference to the points games were selling out on. They’re probably hoping that now they’ve done that, they can quietly step away from doing the checks at some point. We’ll see.
-
I do wonder what the club’s long term aim with this strategy is here? To me, I’m not sure it’s a sustainable policy. It feels like it’s probably a right pain in the arse for the Box Office to be doing this near enough every game. But unless they come up with something better/different, it’ll sharp go back to the ticket selling on they were trying to prevent if they decide to stop.

Nah, I applied as well but no joy.

Given the ‘punishment’ is in the form of having loyalty points removed, I doubt anyone could legally challenge that as I’m sure the club would just be able to say awarding them (or not) is entirely at their discretion.

Hopefully find out next week if they’re sticking to the six week rule.
