Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)

Not sure it works as clear cut as that? edit: yeah, it didn’t work like that last season, (unsurprisingly) seems far more complicated. -
Ah, I thought you meant Charlie Bennett
-
He’s not employed by the club is he?
-
They should only have been cleared if you gave up your ST up.
-
Yeah, and I think this is why they’ve gone down the route of almost forcing people to be the named owner of the ticket, even when it’s caused them some grief like when people had to set up accounts for their kids for the Sela Cup games. Going forward though, it should hopefully allow some kind of tiered system to be put in place, which I think most people feel would be preferable to what we have right now. As much as I’m not going to pretend the Box Office hasn’t made sizeable mistakes this summer, this whole situation (like everything else at the club) has been ultimately caused by years of neglect, where ticketing was allowed to just muddle along, with tweaks here and there, and no-one ever took responsibility to future-proof things.
-
The problem with that will be that you’ll get people (correctly) saying ‘I went to every game last season, but my dad/brother/lover got me the ticket via his ST, so there’s nothing recorded against my account’
-
Yeah, fair point, you might have to do something based on ballot applications rather than actual purchases.
-
Yeah, I think we’ll end up with something like that eventually. Whether they’ll take into account any purchase history prior to this season, I’m not sure. And obviously a lot of people will understandably be upset about that.
-
Bit different with Wembley though as we know there’s always going to be Club Wembley tickets kicking about. Was @ryanegg who tried to buy one and it turned out to be a crock of shit?

Do we know the time? -
Are they actually real though?
-
Remember the last time we qualified for Europe and we bought Vernon Anita. Fun times.
-
I was thinking about this and wonder whether it relates to a hypothetical situation where a certain category in the ballot doesn’t sell out because not enough people chose that category? The way they structured it originally, where you didn’t know which category you would get, before everyone kicked off, that scenario wouldn’t be possible. So might explain why it was present for Liverpool but not Villa?

We did have two from the same game under Rafa…
-
Unfortunately that’s life isn’t it? If you’ve got enough money you can just get hospitality and bypass everything.
-
You’re right, but everybody seems to want the option to select all areas, so I don’t actually think they’d get any stick for it.
-
How many ‘high risk’ games are there though? Virtually anyone could have got a ticket at any time under Ashley, and bar that one Liverpool game, there’s never really been a major problem. I stand to be proved wrong, but I’d be very surprised if there’s many issues on Sunday.

And now everyone needs to know your Twitter @ …..
-
Your membership is purchase history. Suspend selling new ones for two weeks before a potentially problematic game. Problem sorted.
-
Unless they get an England or Scotland game, they’d do well to sell 5k tickets. Tonga Women v Japan Women isn’t getting Uncle Mick out the pub for the afternoon .
-
When it comes to ticketing, we almost all do that. Maybe some more so than others, but it’s very difficult to be in favour of something that stops you, or lessens the chances of you, seeing your team. The problem comes when we forget other people have different situations to our own that result in an opposite viewpoint, and we just clash head on.

It’s a tricky one, the family thing. Obviously, you want folk to be able to attend as a family, and you’d really like to think there’s some way of a ST-holding parent to be able to attend with a child once they are old enough. But we know our old family section was way too big and you can’t be having empty seats when loads of people can’t get in. I don’t know what the answer is tbh

Factor them in as in, they won’t be applying very often?
