I would guess that 57k Silverstone said would be about 90% of total sales. That’s more than I was expecting like. I do think as well the ‘novelty’, if you want to call it that, of applying in the ballots might wear off for a few and there won’t quite be the demand that there’s been so far (that said I suppose how we perform could effect that as much as anything). I’m sceptical on whether they’ve got something in place to artificially even it out over the course the season as well. But like you said earlier, time will tell as the season goes on.

Howay man, we’re not taking anything that Burnsie says seriously. We haven’t sold 150k.
-
I suppose the randomness is what should make it fair. You could argue that there could maybe be a weighting aspect where if you’ve been unsuccessful previously you somehow get more chance next time. Although at the minute, that’s miles too complicated for what’s in place. That’s before you get into the fact that people would probably rather be successful in certain games etc. As the season goes on the discrepancy between those who keep getting picked and those that don’t, should narrow you would hope.
-
Fully understand the frustration if you haven’t got ticket to either game so far. Especially if you’ve gone regularly last season. I’d be the same. We are only two games in though. Some people are 2/2 in the ballots. That could be you in the next two. I’d think for Brentford demand will be down a bit from Villa and Liverpool.

Means you’re not bound by the 10 transfers thing. Some people will also see it as less hassle than doing the actual transfer online.

Know they can’t justify keeping him, but won’t sack/release him. Pathetic.
-
No, you can’t. Not sure whether the ‘new’ account would have to have different details to original one too?

How many Ukrainians do you think would attend in Hamburg? Appreciate everyone that suggests a number is guessing to an extent, but looks like there are a large number of refugees/migrants in Hamburg at the minute. -
Interesting. They seem to have put quite a bit of thought into it. A touch convoluted on first reading, but I’m sure easy enough to grasp once you get used to it. Any idea how its been received by their fans?
-
I suspect we will in time
-
I think people would. They’d feel if they’d been to 170 aways, regardless of when, they should be having dibs over someone who’s been to 25. Impossible to keep everyone happy though.
-
Totally dependent on who the opposition is and the size of their ground. *there’s a theory that getting Shakhtar will be the one as they’re playing home games at Hamburg (50k+) and obviously won’t fill that with home fans (although there are huge amounts of Ukrainians displaced in Hamburg at the minute). So we could possibly get a massive allocation.
-
The complaints you would get would be from someone who lets say, went to every game from 2010-2016, amassed ~150 points. They’ve been going since, but at a much reduced rate (and not selling on or anything). They go from having ~170 points to having <20 points. They’ll feel pissed off, and claim that the club don’t care about ‘legacy’ supporters. Others will say it’s fine, and those that go here and now should be at the top of priority list.
-
Yeah, some clubs have ‘rolling’ 3/5 year totals, where a year just keeps dropping off. Think the mackems might actually do it? There’s pros and cons to that as well like. But we all know there isn’t really ‘correct’ solution, almost a case of trying to pick the best worst one.
-
Absolutely. This feels like the middle ground to me. And hopefully when fully digital ticketing gets implemented across all clubs at some point in the future, we’ll find it.
-
Indeed, and for all the rights or wrongs of the ‘new’ initiative that was implemented last night, it is largely going to put a stop to that.
-
Yeah, I’m not disputing those scenarios exist, the reduction in the points requirement for the Man City and Brighton, is evidence enough of that. But surely the answer to that isn’t taking away from some people something which is an absolute pivotal part of their life?
-
OK, but you don’t need to resort to the original suggestion to prevent that.
-
It is too a large extent though. More people (not every single person that never went before) want to go now because we’re more like to win, and it’s usually a lot more fun when you win. This isn’t unique to us by the way. It would be exactly the same at every other club.
-
You would tell someone that’s been going to every away for 10, 20, 30 years - “sorry mate, I’m afraid it’s luck of the draw whether you get to go now, as more people want to go now we’re good” ?
-
Yep, I’d say it’s very likely to be two out of us, Spain and Italy, so you’d take those odds.
-
Definitely very possible. Not probable, but possible.
