  1. Chat starting to permeate through other threads. Granted, not there yet, but getting closer and closer to the return of some form of European football back at SJP. Sure there’s loads of helpful sites that we’ve all been resigned to having no relevance to us in recent times, so let’s get them all shared as and when required. I do remember the below site being the nuts for all your coefficient needs from the last time we qualified: https://kassiesa.net/uefa/index.html And just because, here’s the details of next seasons finals: CL - Sat 01/06/24 - Wembley Stadium, London EL - Wed 22/05/24 - Aviva Stadium, Dublin ECL - Wed 29/05/24 - TBC May 23
  2. Reportedly on £273k p/w. Which may be a tad above our current structure.
  3. Not if we’re finishing third
  4. Midweek before the last game of the season with them in the cup final and Chelsea having somehow fluked their way to the CL final will do
  5. Be interesting when the Brighton game gets rescheduled for. Looking likely to be midweek of either of the last two weeks of the season. Hopefully they make the cup final and it acts as a distraction in the same way it did for us.
  6. Interesting bit in The Athletic about Salisu. Been linked previously and seems he’s now with the same agency as Trippier etc. One to watch…
  7. I mean if you’re gonna sign for a team with Mbappe, Messi and Neymar, I’m not sure what you expect really?
  8. Sissoko didn’t have one year left on his contract though. Literally can’t think of anyone who’s gone for that much with only a year left. Granted Kane will (and plenty more) if he goes this summer, but you’d be looking at £150m for him if he had longer.
  9. That’s a fair point. Although he was playing against Liverpool…
  10. Is Man U at home that much of a difficult fixture these days? Won 1 of their last 5 away league games. Been absolutely annihilated in the last two.

    St James' Park

Could they just shut it to the public but still have trains run through it to make the necessary track adjustments?
  12. If we do qualify for CL there’ll be absolute fume from the rest of the league when we whack out our new sponsorship deal in the summer ?
  13. Did you do your predictor in the style of Lawro?
  14. Ludicrous price for someone with one year left. Can’t think of anyone in that situation who’s gone for that.
  15. Or would he make the RTG combined XI? #CattsForMeLike
  16. For a short period Hart was phenomenal. Think there was one point where Rooney was tweeting about him being the best keeper in the world.
  17. You’re right, we should. I’ll stop now. Until the next time we dominate and batter them.
  18. We were nowhere near as bad in the final as you were on Sunday. Anyone basing a judgement on you solely off yesterday would say you’re not a very good team. And you’re saying that type of performance is a not an infrequent occurrence, so that’s why Ian’s statement has merit.
  19. You have not been dominated to that extent for an entire game by anyone. You’ve had terrible tonking’s off Liverpool and Brentford, but they were basically 45 minute capitulations. You at least sort of competed for the other 45 mins. Sunday was different, and your fans need reasons other than sometimes you’re not very good, as @AyeDubbleYoocorrectly pointed out.
  20. Sunday has absolutely rattled Man Utd fans ? I think they all knew it was a possibility we could beat them, but the manner in which they were utterly dominated from start to finish has genuinely shocked them to the point they’re searching for anything to try and make sense of it. ‘Barcelona, Casemiro, Weghorst, Glazers, blah, blah’.
  21. Got to love fans of the ‘Biggest Team in the World’ using being in the Europa League as the excuse for being two places below Newcastle with 11 games left ?? You might have thought the £200m worth of new players on top of what they already had might have equipped them for that. But no, they had to play Omonia Nicosia in October so that’s why they’re below us…

    Scott McTominay

Paid more attention to him yesterday than I normally would. Can definitely see the attributes he possesses that Howe would like. His physicality is really good and he’s a fairly strong ball carrier. As has been pointed out elsewhere, they did get completely overrun in midfield but I thought he was the best of a bad bunch. So I could see him fitting into our squad quite nicely, but once the price starts going upwards of £20m/£25m, you’d have to start questioning whether those kind of resources would be better spent elsewhere.
