  1. Side note - does anyone know why the fuck Dave Allen the boxer was doing the half time challenge!?? ?
  2. Hmmmm, slightly iffy logic (mathematically if nothing else), but let’s run with it. We’ll piss it.
  3. Ended up with two tickets in the directors bit today. Some of the passing and movement was really nice, even little bits from Bradford occasionally. But the goalkeeping, dear me. Don’t want to sound harsh, because it’s a recurring theme in the women’s game from the limited bits I’ve seen. We scored three goals from corners, and one from a free-kick into the box. All headers in the six yard box. The lass in goal for Bradford just couldn’t or wouldn’t come off her line. I mean she didn’t look very big in fairness, but clearly seemed to be a tactic of ours to just float set pieces towards her.
  4. Sssshh. You’re not allowed to mention the money that Man Utd spend. It’s only ever ‘big-spending Chelsea’, ‘big-spending Manchester City’ and now ‘big-spending Newcastle’. If you’re talking about Man Utd, you simply have to refer to the ‘wonders’ ETH has done with the most expensive squad in the league.
  5. Doubt they could afford to lose him from the home grown numbers needed
  6. Wages reportedly £110k p/w which is doable. Contract not up anytime soon so no pressure for Arsenal to sell, and they may feel the need for quality cover with CL next season. They have got Nuno Tavares out on loan like, so may depend what they want to do with him. Probably comes down to whether he wants to push to be away to be first choice somewhere.
  7. The £170k p/w he’s on now probably says no
  8. Wages are always going to be an issue for us in the short to medium term. We’re already at over 90% wages to turnover ratio, and although we’ll have some lovely new sponsorships sorted soon, they won’t be a silver bullet. If you bring in someone on £200k+ p/w, then if you’re Bruno’s agent you’re saying, “we know what your wage structure allows, he needs to be around the top as well”. It’s going to take a little while yet before we can start offering those kind of numbers
  9. For 15, yes they would, if the 15th card came in the last three league games. Pardew once didn’t play Tiote in the last game of the season because he was on 14
  10. More concerned about Joelinton getting 15 and a three match ban before the end of the season tbh
  11. If there was one person who springs to mind when talking about ‘taking the fun out of football’, that miserable twat would be right at the top of the list.
  12. Did he? Fair enough. Although he was probably in the top 5 players in the world at that point.
  13. Sadly not, will have to wait until Everton. Although I suspect non-stop support of Anthony Gordon might go down better there…
  14. Exactly this. We need to realise we can’t/won’t be signing players already on in excess of £200k p/w. Obviously we will increase our wage structure over time, but it’ll be gradual and we won’t be putting anyone on double what anyone else is on
  15. Arsenal now playing Chelsea the midweek before they play us. Tuesday to Sunday so not like it’s a quick turnaround for them, but still a small advantage for us.
  16. Still got my 95/96 shirt with ‘Champions’ on the back
  17. Chat starting to permeate through other threads. Granted, not there yet, but getting closer and closer to the return of some form of European football back at SJP. Sure there’s loads of helpful sites that we’ve all been resigned to having no relevance to us in recent times, so let’s get them all shared as and when required. I do remember the below site being the nuts for all your coefficient needs from the last time we qualified: https://kassiesa.net/uefa/index.html And just because, here’s the details of next seasons finals: CL - Sat 01/06/24 - Wembley Stadium, London EL - Wed 22/05/24 - Aviva Stadium, Dublin ECL - Wed 29/05/24 - TBC May 23
  18. Reportedly on £273k p/w. Which may be a tad above our current structure.
  19. Not if we’re finishing third
  20. Midweek before the last game of the season with them in the cup final and Chelsea having somehow fluked their way to the CL final will do
  21. Be interesting when the Brighton game gets rescheduled for. Looking likely to be midweek of either of the last two weeks of the season. Hopefully they make the cup final and it acts as a distraction in the same way it did for us.
  22. Interesting bit in The Athletic about Salisu. Been linked previously and seems he’s now with the same agency as Trippier etc. One to watch…
