  1. Fair enough. Do you think the non-member survey’s subsequently had any material impact on increasing member numbers?
  2. You have a more optimistic opinion than me of the outcome of the Trust taking a ‘holistic’ approach to things then ?
  3. Any fan-based ‘trust’ or whatever you want to call it, is only as powerful as its members. If it’s not got the numbers in that regard, then no club will bother engaging on any kind or meaningful scale. Why would they? The trust has to do everything it can to push for people to join. So if someone wants to have their say on ticketing via this survey, they’re obviously going to ask them to join up first.
  4. Via the trust. I know people have issues with certain members of the trust being all about self-interest, but you can hardly expect them to not take a position where they’re saying ‘if you want a voice, join the trust’. It’s like expecting a Union to ballot an entire workforce about strike action, rather than just their members.
  5. Not wanting to speak for @Greg but if someone doesn’t think the trust is worth joining, not sure why they would want to take part in a trust survey?
  6. Aye, .com probably have the best summary:
  7. The closing paragraph in Swiss Ramble’s latest blog, on Leicester’s finances:
  8. Who is Wolves ‘actual derby’? West Brom?
  9. Might be injured anyway given he had to come off on Saturday
  10. Short questionnaire/survey on ticketing been emailed out to members
  11. Would have been four if Spurs had made it to the FA Cup semis
  12. What does ‘better crowd management’ consist of? At the minute it appears to be ‘let less people in’.
  13. Alas… edit - I should add that from personal experience I wouldn’t say that Hillsborough is really any worse than Elland Rd or Turf Moor (maybe throw Selhurst Park in there). Honestly the concourses simply aren’t fit to hold as big as allocations that get given to away clubs. It’s sad really because we all want as big as allocations as possible.
  14. Was reported to be quite high up on Howe’s list when he was at Leeds, but obviously didn’t have much hope with Barca interested. Could definitely see us being interested again if there was any kind of deal to be had.
  15. Southampton, Bournemouth and West Ham/Palace going down with Burnley, Sheff Utd and Boro coming would be a bit of dream in terms of reducing the away miles travelled.
  16. I think it’s more likely to be a number than a %. So say it’s 400ish per game. That’s obviously a far bigger % when it’s Brentford than it is when it’s most other places.

    Match Atmosphere

When they showed him on the big screen at Wembley before ko, that was the first time I’d ever seen him. I wasn’t surprised by his appearance…
  18. I think a chunk might have been taken by some of those who got an away game of their choice after they oversold Fulham, so possibly a slightly lower %, but still far too high it would seem. They really need to improve the transparency on how away tickets are distributed.
  19. Starting to get a bit ‘Judean People’s Front / People’s Front of Judea’
  20. Apparently the West Ham fans had to have a passport matching the name on the ticket to get in tonight.

I’m making assumptions here, but I think the number of people who regularly attend, that would face significant challenges with digital ticketing, has to to be a very small percentage. Small enough that any club should be able to work with them individually to find a solution. They’ll be plenty more who will moan and feel put out by it, but ultimately can adapt easily enough, however begrudgingly, and they’ll just have to get on with it.

Ultimately, yes, technology has always been the answer. Will be more tricky to implement for away tickets though, as you’re dependent on the home stadium having compatible technology. You would think it wouldn’t be a problem across the major teams (although I say that without any knowledge of whether different ‘types’ of QR codes/NFT’s or whatever are easily scannable across different software?). Would seem a lot more problematic if and when we play smaller teams. Should at least make the touting of home tickets harder though.

Appreciate, like introducing any new, they’ll be a degree of trepidation from some, but people will get used to it (possibly after some teething troubles to start) as it really doesn’t take much, even for the least tech-savvy. It’s definitely the direction of travel for future ticketing. I’d be amazed if every club in the country getting 20k+ gates isn’t near the enough digital-only within 5 years (for home games at least).
