  1. I think that was more to do with Liverpool fans buying memberships in an effort to get tickets as there was a possibility that game could have been when they won the league. They’ve stopped selling memberships now so you’ll be fine. Just make sure you know the day tickets go on sale!
  2. Guess it was just another advantage to encourage people to get/keep a ST. If you’ve got mates who can only get to a limited amount of games, you can always get them a ticket. That kind of thing. Never really been an issue in the past (apart from the odd game). Things have changed dramatically now though, so probably needs looked at.
  3. Tbh, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the situation next season. If we assume they’ll sell somewhere in the region of 40k ST’s, take away fans and corporates off, and you’ll have something like 8k (or less) tickets available for every match. That number sells out straight away with anything like current demand, so no tickets would ever be available to the ‘general public’. If you were selling memberships, you’d probably have to cap the number anyway, so might be best just to scrap them and have a general sale free for all for every game. That’s spoken from a ST holder’s perspective mind. If I were a current (non-ST) member I could well feel a bit different as that would probably be hindering my chances of obtaining tickets.
  4. Presumably just some kind of pressure tactic to try and get some concessions out of the government in terms of being allowed to sell tickets. Absolutely horrific look for them though.
  5. Tbh, I’m not sure what they’ll be doing in relation to memberships next season. They said they would be looking to revamp the ticketing system (or words to that effect) going forward, so might be something new in place for next season. That’s guesswork on my part mind, I don’t actually know anything, and I haven’t seen any substantive rumours about what, if anything, they’ll do.
  6. Yeah, if memberships are still a thing next season I think it would be advisable to get one. If the team continues to improve like we all think/hope, demand is only going to increase and there’ll probably be less and less tickets reaching general sale.
  7. ….we were 3-0 up at home to Charlton and lost 3-4 with a last minute own goal.
  8. Interesting way for them to become our feeder club
  9. Do the club seem receptive to the pulley idea (assuming it’s logistically possible)?
  10. Whilst I don’t think anyone could read that and suggest you’re not ‘deserving’ (for want want of a more appropriate word) of getting back what you had, at least in some capacity, the issue is going to be where do they draw the line? There’ll be similar stories from people who wrapped in after the KK fiasco, the latter stages of Pardew, etc. Even if it were limited to those who walked away when Rafa went, I’m not sure there’d be enough ST’s available to cover everyone wanting to come back. It’s a sad situation, entirely of Mike Ashley’s making, and I hope they can come up with something for people like yourself, sadly I just can’t see it.
  11. For what it’s worth, I backed us at Evens to stay up when the takeover happened. Cash Out is currently at 99.36%….
  12. Might be if they just give them away seeing they can’t sell them
  13. Not sure that’s right like cos there was nearly 2500 available when they first went on sale on the ticket portal (unless we were given 3300?) In that update the Trust put out yesterday they said the club said the allocation for players/staff/corporate was still 10%. Not sure about that like ??‍♂️
  14. That’s only for away tickets though. So the home club is still only getting £30. You’re right though, why do we need to stick an extra quid on? It’s not just to cover postage either as it’s per ticket, even if they all arrive together.
  15. Yep, like I said, often individual circumstances that have prevented people from going in the past, rather than just ‘they didn’t go cos we were shit’. But how do you quantify any of that into some meaningful system? You can’t unfortunately.
  16. What was the original price? How did they get around charging more (assuming it was more)?
  17. It’s illegal to re-sell football tickets above face value in this country. Obviously not to say it doesn’t happen, and if you have enough money you can nearly always find one, but it’s not done openly.
  18. That’s an argument that’s never got a definitive answer though, so I’ll swerve that one ?
  19. Giving points for home cup games is probably fair enough. Although can’t see it having any great impact. Suppose it does give folk a foot on the points ladder but if you’re only looking at 2/3 a season (granted will be more if and when we’re back in Europe) 40/50 points for an away ticket is still going to feel a million miles away.
  20. Tbh, it’s only a problem now demand is high again. Previous to this season you were probably looking at ~50% of away games going to Members sale, or at least to zero points. If you’ve had a ST over the recent past (and didn’t give it up) there’s been plenty of opportunities to build up points. Having said that, it’s never that straight forward, and everyone has their own individual circumstances that could justifiably mean they feel ‘unlucky’ to be missing out going forward.
  21. Apparently so, although someone told me there’s only 80-90 fans left with an ‘Away ST’
  22. I think if they went down the ‘10% ballot’ route, they’d probably have to open it up to all ST holders on less points than whatever the original 90% sold out at. So if 90% of tickets sell out at 50 points, everyone on less than 50 points can enter the ballot.
  23. I do agree with that actually. Although I use it myself as a ST holder, I don’t think it’s particularly fair tbh.
  24. If it does get to a point where literally no game ever goes down to 0 points, then I would agree something (no idea what) would need to be done, as you can’t have kids never getting the chance to go to away games (unless buying off someone else). I will say though that although demand is going crazy and will only continue to go up, there will come a point where it plateaus. For example, if we’re away at Madrid in the CL on a Wednesday, then got Norwich away on the Sunday, what would demand for Norwich be like?
