Are you actually bothered about him going on like this though? I mean, I fully understand how Brentford fans feel about it, but that’s not our problem. I’d expect Liverpool fans (the non-mental ones) to feel the same about Isak. If Wissa scores the winning goal in the FA Cup final for us, I’m not not going to be sat there thinking, ‘well this is tainted for me because I didn’t like the way he left Brentford’.

I think you’ll find we’re football fans and we can be as contradictory as we like…

He has a decent turn of pace, but Gordon is one of the quickest in the league. People underestimate Gordon’s speed, he’s lightning. And that underestimation will probably continue as we’ve now got just about the quickest player going on the other side in Elanga.

You must have been watching a different Osula to me. The only I’d give you would be strength (although it’s questionable he knows how to use it productively). Also fairly laughable to suggest he’s as quick as Gordon.

That is true, but in the limited time he’s had as CF, he’s contributed virtually nothing. And for all the angst over Gordon’s finishing at Villa, he still ran away from an England CB, forcing him to pull him down and get sent off.

But he’s not as good as Gordon.

As any Isak transfer would likely be in the top five, maybe even top three, most expensive transfers of all time, surely it’s completely unrealistic to expect a deal of that level to get sorted in the last three or four days of the window. God knows the level of detail drawing up that kind of contract would involve. If nothing’s afoot by the middle of next week I think they can kiss it goodbye for this window.
