Take some working out to figure how we’re gonna give him over £400k a week.

Downie seems to think they are. Didn’t say who like. Presumably that lad from Rennes.

Downie still reiterating in his latest video it’s just a case of Brentford getting a replacement then it’s done.
  5. Just looking at the Brentford forum earlier in their Wissa thread, and someone genuinely thought this was true, suggesting Wissa would hardly be impressed with how amateur we were. He was quickly put right by others, but, fuck me, people will believe anything.

Easy to forget that when KK was selling the dream to everyone he signed, he was backed up by the club being able to pay near enough the best wages going.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Totally, accept the reluctance towards age, presumable price, and the fact he’s a right twat on the field (although that doesn’t matter when he’s on your side). But surely everyone could see he’d add significant depth to our squad?

They signed a Brazilian last season, but he was injured for most of it.

“Close to being done” ”Chance it gets done in the next couple of days” According to Downie in his latest video.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Roughly 7/2, given Isak is 8/15 to sign for Liverpool and Watkins 13/10 to sign for us. However, you could argue they’re related, so maybe a bit shorter. But then again those are the odds to sign this window, rather than by the first game.

  14. Obviously we don’t know how it will/would turn out. Isak might go there, not fit the system and be a relative flop (aye, I think that’s extremely unlikely as well). But we need to not be too obsessive (emotionally driven) about what selling him to a ‘rival’ will do. Trust the people making the decisions to get it right. Whatever you want to say about this summer, they have massive credit in the bank IMO.
  15. What if - and putting emotion/hatred aside - Liverpool were to run away from the the league, and take points off all the other top teams, allowing us to finish 2nd/3rd rather than 5th?

  17. Yes, on account of playing in a farmers league.

Tbf I don’t see any real benefit to Guehi (or his people) stringing us along if he’s wanting to move to Liverpool next summer. If anything, surely it would make it more difficult for him if we came in with a bid that Palace accepted.

It would be interesting (well probably not really, as it would cause a monumental melt down), to see what Palace would do if they accepted a decent offer but he said he wanted to stay put.
  20. They probably do, we’re just not sat absorbing every tiny little bit of information put out about their potential transfers.

It would be somewhat ironic if we bid decent money for him, and Palace end up actively trying to get him to sign for us so they don’t end up with nowt.
