Villa would have to make a reasonably significant sale to be able to afford someone like Ramos I think.

Greek football gives Turkish football a solid run for the level of dodginess / corruption.

All a bit of a shame that loan move. And it was a disaster for all involved. Dubravka never played. Man Utd paid a loan fee for someone they didn’t need. And we ended up short of keepers. I prefer to forget it ever happened tbh.

If we manage to get anywhere near £2m for a 36yo goalkeeper, we’ve done sensationally.

Lascelles, Schar and Murphy the only ones left from pre-Bruce?

Hope says he’s “getting good vibes” about him* *signing that is, not just generally
-
From Hope’s latest article: “Asked if the 25-year-old would train this week, the Newcastle boss told me: ‘You have to earn the right to train with us. 'We are Newcastle United. The player has a responsibility here to be part of a team and part of a squad - you have to act in the right way. So that is also at play here. 'We will make sure that any player does that to earn the right to train with the group. No player can expect to act poorly and train with the group as normal.” I’m sure @Heron and the Wor Flags guys could select part of that for the Liverpool game…

I realise he’s very young, but what the hell was he doing in the Korean second division? Surely one of the bigger Korean teams should have been snapping him up from the youth ranks, unless he’s been a late developer?

One of the best introductory interviews I’ve seen. Came across fantastically.
-
According to that Sky report if Man Utd get him they’ll be putting themselves in a very weak position to sell the players they need to sell (assuming they haven’t already got deals agreed for them).
-
Odd choice to be leaking to if true like…
-
Or it’s because he bumped into an Aston Villa fan, an Arsenal fan and a Liverpool fan, and they all unanimously agreed that the Glazers were the worst owners in the history of football, and he should stay away.
-
Did he actually join though? Cos I don’t think he was spotted and he definitely doesn’t seem to be in Korea.

Yes, it’s difficult to disagree with that view. However, if I was playing devils advocate - Watkins and Wissa, plus some reasonable additions elsewhere, would give us a chance of a run in this years CL as well as the potential to qualify again next season. If we were able to pull that off and be in a strong financial position to go again next summer (hopefully with a proper compliment of backroom staff…), we’d have possibly made the best of a difficult situation.

Scored a pen at home to Man City I think
