*attempt to lowball if he chooses them
-
Obviously we don’t know how it will/would turn out. Isak might go there, not fit the system and be a relative flop (aye, I think that’s extremely unlikely as well). But we need to not be too obsessive (emotionally driven) about what selling him to a ‘rival’ will do. Trust the people making the decisions to get it right. Whatever you want to say about this summer, they have massive credit in the bank IMO.
-
What if - and putting emotion/hatred aside - Liverpool were to run away from the the league, and take points off all the other top teams, allowing us to finish 2nd/3rd rather than 5th?

Yes, on account of playing in a farmers league.
-
Tbf I don’t see any real benefit to Guehi (or his people) stringing us along if he’s wanting to move to Liverpool next summer. If anything, surely it would make it more difficult for him if we came in with a bid that Palace accepted.
-
It would be interesting (well probably not really, as it would cause a monumental melt down), to see what Palace would do if they accepted a decent offer but he said he wanted to stay put.
-
They probably do, we’re just not sat absorbing every tiny little bit of information put out about their potential transfers.
-
It would be somewhat ironic if we bid decent money for him, and Palace end up actively trying to get him to sign for us so they don’t end up with nowt.
-
Fully understand some of the reaction after the way things went last summer with him and the way things have been this summer. But look back at the first few pages of this thread, and how excited people were. He’s still the same, very good, player.

Don’t think we would have scored that day if we played all night. Great learning curve for last season though…
-
Villa would have to make a reasonably significant sale to be able to afford someone like Ramos I think.

Greek football gives Turkish football a solid run for the level of dodginess / corruption.
-
All a bit of a shame that loan move. And it was a disaster for all involved. Dubravka never played. Man Utd paid a loan fee for someone they didn’t need. And we ended up short of keepers. I prefer to forget it ever happened tbh.
-
If we manage to get anywhere near £2m for a 36yo goalkeeper, we’ve done sensationally.
-
Lascelles, Schar and Murphy the only ones left from pre-Bruce?

Hope says he’s “getting good vibes” about him* *signing that is, not just generally
-
From Hope’s latest article: “Asked if the 25-year-old would train this week, the Newcastle boss told me: ‘You have to earn the right to train with us. 'We are Newcastle United. The player has a responsibility here to be part of a team and part of a squad - you have to act in the right way. So that is also at play here. 'We will make sure that any player does that to earn the right to train with the group. No player can expect to act poorly and train with the group as normal.” I’m sure @Heron and the Wor Flags guys could select part of that for the Liverpool game…

I realise he’s very young, but what the hell was he doing in the Korean second division? Surely one of the bigger Korean teams should have been snapping him up from the youth ranks, unless he’s been a late developer?
