  1. Hmmm... that does seem like strange wording from George... I'm guessing he's trying to get hold of his source as we speak.
  2. I reckon we're about as close to mid-May as it's possible to be Bein put us back a few days. Give it until the 20th. You have way too much confidence in your source. I couldn't be happier if this comment comes back to bite me on the arse but unless someone here is talking to the head of the PL, no one knows anything. I think it's been pretty clear for a couple of weeks that RS is on the wind up, no?
  3. Deciding on the top 3 going up without deciding on League 1's future is a bit strange?
  4. ? Have you ever had to organise anything remotely complicated? I'm pretty sure nobody's sat twiddling there thumbs like. It will be a huge undertaking to get it up and running again, in a safe way. are the spanish & german fa's still fucking about negotiating with clubs about neutral venues and shit? are they fuck hate the way people try to defend the shitshow that is this country in 2020 like, it's an absolute circus on every conceivable level I agree with your general point regarding the shitshow that is our government, but the PL have a hell of a lot on their plates with this... huge amounts of money at risk... many ulterior motives from clubs... players health at risk... the potential for lawsuits etc etc, and they have to come up with a plan that satisfies everyone (including other leagues below). It's anything but an easy thing to do. I don't envy them. I don't know details of Germany and Spain so can't comment, though I do know their TV revenue is MUCH lower, so that will almost certainly be part of the reason they've come to quicker conclusions.

  6. If I didn't despise our current owner so much, I wouldn't want this to happen tbh. I'm quite uncomfortable with it. I'm very confortable with it as it happens. If someone wants to carry on with mike then that's their own decision but opinions shouldn't be forced on to others. After all this is a football forum and not a human rights forum or mumsnet. What does that even mean? Self explanatory isn't it? Who is forcing their opinion on you? Did you bother to read the open letter? "Forcing your opinion" = Woman who's husband was allegedly brutally murdered by our prospective new owners. I think she's well within her rights to be pissed off about that and shout it far and wide, whether you want to hear it or not.
  7. I didn't say I didn't want it. I said I could understand the reasoning if it didn't happen. " it would be pretty easy to accept if it was blocked. There's a lot not to like and it's hard to argue with anyone saying it should be blocked. " That sort of sounds like you don't want the deal to go through ... which is a point of view you're entitled to have btw I also said that I want it to happen from a footballing point of view. I do want it to happen. It's just pretty hard to argue with if for some reason it doesn't go through.

Who's "forcing" their opinions on anyone?

  10. That's not what I'm saying and you know it. I'm saying if you look at it completely logically, taking away any NUFC bias, it's pretty fucking easy to see reasons why it shouldn't happen. Many aspects of the prospective owners still don't sit well with me, but I still want it to happen for sporting reasons. But if it falls through it'll have good reason to. As Caulkin keeps saying, we should be happy that the process is taking a long time and is thorough. We could have done with this level of scrutiny when Ashley took charge.
  11. I must admit like, as much as I want this to happen from a football point of view, it would be pretty easy to accept if it was blocked. There's a lot not to like and it's hard to argue with anyone saying it should be blocked. What will be will be.
  12. It's the vaccuum that's killing people and causing them to amplify dozens of little fuck-alls into seismically important considerations. None of us are entitled to know anything that's going on, not sure why people think we are or that they have the first idea how long this could be expected to take Erm, maybe because Staveley told Caulkin to tell the fans that it would be complete in the next few days, back towards the end of April ffs No she never and Caulkin has never put a timeline on it. Why are you laughing? You claimed something that was incorrect, I corrected you. OK she put it out there that it "should be complete" in the next few days. Nearly 3 weeks ago. The person who was incorrect was Staveley. Unless it was her contact at the PL who was incorrect. Or her lawyer who was incorrect. Why are you so convinced Staveley is acting in bad faith? Literally he only evidence supporting that position is Mike Ashley's "tyre-kicker" comment I'm not convinced either way, I do feel theres a chance she's acting in bad faith though. She's been on the scene nearly 3 years, in that time she's repeatedly told Caulkin she's going to be our new owner and all the plans she has for the club. She had a lovely curry with Mike during the first attempt, then he went on holiday and called her a time waster. If as she says she made him offers he'd indicated he'd accept, then surely there would be no way of trusting him again. Over the last number of years we've seen various claims that the club is being sold, that all then miraculously disappear into thin air. This one seems to be further along granted, but once (10 times) bitten twice shy and all that. I'm just not convinced, and I don't think theres anything wrong with that position. Can I ask why you are convinced she is genuine? A £17m deposit. Companies house confirmation of money exchanging hands and documents showing the progress made. A high profile group of companies involved in the consortium. I mean, there's a pretty long list of reasons why she's genuine. In fact, I'm 1000% sure she's genuine and that we're days away from being sold... it's literally up to the PL and then it's done.

  14. Probably Staveley then...she has a habit of tipping people off with things that don't happen sadly. Does she? Must have missed that!
  15. Really? You can’t see ANYTHING wrong with that? ?
  16. ? 100% agree with this, though perhaps the last bolded bit is a touch harsh
  17. For no apparent reason? ? Yes of course, for no apparent reason. You can do one of these "attack Saudi Arabia" (China, Russia, Iran, USA . . . whoever) articles whenever you (BBC etc) want, but WHY NOW ?? It stinks, I'm sure you can see that. If that's a parody I'm liking this Hilarious isn't it!
  18. They also wouldn’t tell Caulkin likely timescales by your logic? Which they have throughout.
  19. They have a good idea whether they’ll pass it though. It’s not a submit and wait kind of test...they speak with the PL regularly and supply them with everything they need and converse on any issues. If the buyers are still very confident, then that would be a sign that nothing too worrying has cropped up.
