  1. I said "if".... Plus how do you know or are you just guessing ? I know for a fact that, as of Friday night, the PL checks were still taking place. Course you did I do know that for a fact, actually. I spoke to one of this forum's favourite journalists about it. They said they spoke to the buyers side on Friday afternoon and everything was still with the PL.
  2. It's been said on here already, I wish for them exactly what they wish for us. What do you think they wish for us, like? On RTG/Twitter obviously you'll get some morons, but in the "real world" I don't know any SAFC who wants NUFC to be a major failure.
  3. Richard Masters of the PL said the other day that if we don't finish the season we run the risk of losing £1bn worth of revenue. That's why it needs to be finished. Regardless what you think of the economy vs health argument, they can't run the risk of that many clubs being so badly affected financially.

  5. As much as I detest them from a sporting rivalry point of view, and can't believe the idiocy of the hardcore Ready To Go lot... I have a lot of friends and neighbours that are SAFC fans and they're all dead canny and just like us, they want what's best for their club. I don't find them to be small time or obsessed at all. In fact, I find that we have an awful lot in common. Both massive underachievers who've been dreadfully mismanaged over the years. I don't get the attitude on here that people would like to see them disappear / go bust. That would be a horrendous thing for the region and for the local community. I'm very much in the camp that would like to see them competitive in the PL but not as good as us I love derby day. I love the rivalry. I'd love it even more if we were one of the top countries in the country taking part in it. If you watch Sunderland Til I Die on Netflix, I struggle to see how you'd wish any of their genuine backroom staff any harm whatsoever. These are real people with families and mortgages and passion. They don't deserve that.
  6. Very interesting article in the Athletic this morning about our training facilities, and is contains several quotes from the Stavely camp. Not going to post the full article (it’s great, you should subscribe), but will post this tidbit from one of Stavely’s advisors... 7. I loved Jonas. I loved his running style...he always ran as if he was being chased! ? I loved his personality. One of our better signings under Ashley I think.
  8. Falls in line with what Colo and Tsunami have both been saying (if their info is correct that is) Stop it. So how do you know it's definitely wrong then, please tell (or is it just an opinion), I certainly don't and I don't know if it's right either? It’s registered and ran by someone in Texas.
  9. ? HTT has been on here for ages and he still loves a bullshit ? I’m sorry like, I don’t buy for a second that we’re in a situation where NUFC think the PL tests are done and the buyers don’t. Seems completely at odds with anything that the good journos are saying. And it would have been leaked to Charnley’s favourable press by now.
  10. Reliable source or you actually know? From the risk team at Barclays. It's second hand info I concede but I 100% trust that I'm not on the end of a wind up myself. Reason they would be informed is in the covenant for the loan/overdraft - change of ownership in the business is a material event. Does nothing for the timing mind, still got to keep glued to SSN for that That timing kind of fits in with what I was told on Friday. Charnley I’m told rang the club on Friday after the PL meeting to say that it was all approved and that they were waiting for the rest of the funds to be released. I’m aware of who was told this by Charnley and it came to me via a chain of only 2 other people, no friend of a friend type of chain either. I’m still hoping we hear something this week but if Friday was the approval day then the money transfer may not have started any process until Monday. Here’s hoping, I’ll be gutted now if this gets stopped. Weren’t caulkin and others told checks where still ongoing this week though ? My info comes from the club side, they believe it’s all approved. Caulkin’s info will be coming from Staveley. I’m sorry like. I don’t believe you at all. ?

  12. It seems to all boil down to how reliable his sources are. It doesn't really bare thinking about about what happened 2 1/2 years ago. His source is almost certainly Stavely or someone very close to her, considering he’s the one journalist who interviewed her. Yep, it was last time also though. She led him to believe she was going to buy us, then the next thing was Ashley's "timewaster" statement. I hope its a happier ending this time. His interview with Stavely was after it had already fallen apart last time. She was Caulkins "source" throughout that whole affair, just as she is now. Ok. I’m not entirely sure of the point you’re attempting to make? My point, or my worry, is that Staveley is saying Ashley has no way of scuppering this deal now. Ashley's side have planted something via Luke Edwards that by the end of this week "something could happen" if this isn't complete. Now we hear it won't be complete this week. I hope Staveley is correct in that it is a "done deal", but we've been here so many times in the past (including once with Staveley herself), only for it to unravel. I have some doubts that it's as simple as she is leading us to believe. Firstly, Luke Edwards is a tosser who loves to stir shit. Secondly, it’s not Stavely saying that Ashley can’t scupper the deal. The documents are signed. It’s done bar regulatory checks. Stop stressing yourself out with made up scenarios

  16. He also says he doesn’t expect our takeover to go through Because he’s been shot stirring, with no actual knowledge on the subject, since day one.
  17. It’s not remotely relevant, but Simon Chadwick is loving trying to stir shit.
  18. Yes, he said he’s getting his updates from the buying side, and his last update was yesterday.
  19. I’m not worried in the slightest. Neither is Caulkin. Neither are the buyers.
  20. There’s also nothing to say it won’t take another 2 weeks. I’d just stop worrying if I was you. Unless we hear definitively from a trusted source that it’s off, it’s just a matter of time.
  21. There’s absolutely nothing in those Caulkin quotes to be worried about like. You guys! ?
