Well that was absolutely woeful!

I had a conversation with a lad at 5 a side yesterday, where he said looking back he thinks "Rafa was a bit of a fraud".

That was because his child was ill I believe. He did an interview about it in the summer and apparently everything is much better now.

Obviously he won’t. We won’t go anywhere long term with any manager. The quality of football is literally no different to the last 3 seasons.

Don’t know why you guys are bothering to moan at him to be honest...he’s doing more than we could have ever imagined he would. 25 points at this stage of the season is excellent. There’s nothing wrong with just being happy for him you know ? I get the anger surrounding Ashley and Rafa leaving, but can’t ask much more from Bruce like.

As far as I can tell, and I’m no Steve Bruce Fan, the football/tactics are basically identical to the last two seasons, except now we have Saint Maximin who can produce some moments of magic to make it feel more attacking (in reality it’s basically the same). And to be honest I’m fine with that. I haven’t disliked watching us this season anywhere near as much as I was expecting to.

We’d be really fucked off if that happened to us. Literally every player on the pitch stopped playing apart from Shelvey. Big linesman error. Every team at the start of the season was told that linesman would keep their flag down if it was a close call.

I would say last season's 2-1 win over City, the previous year's 1-0 win over Man Utd... they were up there for atmosphere. Very reminiscent of the "good old days".

Shadow Puppets has finally accepted it’s less than reported Yeah, the Watford game was definitely significantly down on crowd. I would say 38-40k. Maintain that from every picture I saw, the Arsenal game still looked in the 45k region to me though.

I was at the match because part of my job requires that I take clients to the football 4-5 times a year. It's part of my job for fucks sake. We're on a rota to do it. As I've already said multiple times on here, I gave up my personal season ticket in the summer in frustration / anger and Ashley. How the hell does that make me pathetic? I don't expect an answer by the way... you tend to disappear when people give perfectly good responses and you can't think of a smart response.

See I was there today, and there was definitely only about 40k there (official attendance was 44k). Huge sections dotted around everywhere with empty seats.

How do modern posters on this forum still not realise that players will never come out and slag off their manager and paymasters (apart from very extreme circumstances when things have totally broken down)?!! I worked for some absolute dickheads but even I can recognise I'd be in the s*** and get sacked (fined / frozen out) if I slagged them off in public and in the press. Some of the subsequent post Rafa understanding of how football and world works have been a disgrace. Yes Greg, I want players to come out and praise Rafa whilst slagging off Bruce and Ashley. That is exactly the point I was making. I accept the players presenting a unified front and praising the current management; that's standard PR, as sickening as it is. I do not however, understand the sly digs at Rafa and the only reason I can give for this is they are happier without Rafa, which, if that is the case leads me to my point about them not being able to recognise quality in management. You've made a nothing point there. You’ll have to point me in the direction of “sly digs at Rafa”?

Like him or not, one thing’s for sure, he’s under a lot of pressure to get things right as fast as possible. Faster than probably most managers of NUFC have been afforded. I hope he does. Got a lot of work to do based on the second half vs Arsenal.

I’m happy to accept that in these photos you can see more pockets of empty seats ? Will be interested to see the official number if it can be had somehow... not via someone’s mate. But actual numbers.

Quite clearly I’m in the minority here so I’m going to just quit while I’m ahead. To me it looks absolutely nothing like 42k, but if that’s what you think, that’s what you think. It’s a waste of time even arguing with you people about it, because you’ve already made your mind up...you see what you want to see. Same with everything about NUFC on here. Yes, and along with the evidence of the two blocks geordie b posted, it's not hard to understand it could well have been 42k through the gates. It is pretty hard to understand like. You’re suggesting 20% of the stadium didn’t show up. Erm, people with the actual figures are Errr...people who heard it from their mate are (which is incredibly easy to just “make up”). I’m not entirely sure on what the capacity of each stand is but 20% of the stadium would equate to probably the entirety of the Gallowgate stand (at a guess). There just wasn’t that many people missing.
