Ayozé Pérez (now playing for Villarreal)
Infinitely Content replied to ponsaelius's topic in Football
Talk will be all about Almiron, but Perez looked just as good today. He will start to look even better with Almiron around him every week, they look like they will link up very well. Excited about this. -
Miguel Almirón (now playing for Atlanta United)

Him & Perez linking up man Perez has needed someone like him badly. Both were fantastic today. -
Sean Longstaff (now playing for Leeds United)

Today should be all about Almiron who was very good, but it's all about this lad yet again. Faultless. -
Really, really enjoyable game. Longstaff MOTM again. And it's not of those meritless 'he's young and was decent/held his own' MOTM's, it's because he's the classiest, most composed player on the pitch yet again. Incredible talent we have. Well done Sean. Early Michael Carrick comparisons are beginning to look very, very fitting.

Probably not far off this, although I think Barreca or Dummett will be included in the match day squad, with some minutes later on in the game perhaps. Forgot all about Dummett Lest we forget. Lovely guy, is Paul. Anyway, really excited for the team announcement. What a difference the prospect of a player like Almiron and a nearly fully fit squad makes.

Burnley All-Whites making a bloody dull time of my early afternoon football viewing experience.

Aimar played further forward didn't he? In more of an Ortega or Rui Costa role and style? Always thought of Riquelme as more in Xavi's style. For most of his career Riquelme was number 10. Only later did he become a deep lying playmaker, a role he was great at too, dictating the tempo of games similarly to Pirlo. He and Aimar, however, had a very similar playmaker style in terms of assisting, flair, dribbling out of ridiculous situations, and being two of the last breed of true number 10s, otherwise known in England as luxury players. Both superbly talented, the type you would pay your money to watch.

I'm excited to see Almiron, but I'm not expecting a match winning performance from him by any means. I know we're expecting a lot from him in time, but I hope the fans, particular in the ground, can manage their expectations a little and not expect the world right away. It will take time for him to settle.

Pablo Aimar and Juan Roman Riquelme.

With Cardiff & Fulham's horrible GD, the pundits talking about Rafa's tactics in the Chelsea/City games are going to look silly as fuck at the end of the season. Of course we all knew this at the time anyway. Rafa

Christ, Fulham and Cardiff are pure shit. We're bang average but it's a world apart from these two.

Beautiful finish Deulofeu. 3-0, game owa. Class.

Would look forward to the return of Shelvey personally. Despite others doing well in his absence, and questions over Shelvey's place in the side - I still believe when he's at it, he's our best central midfielder and the prospect of him finding Almiron and Rondon in his current form is hugely exciting.
-
Lets hope he ends up going there then, as in Rafa's whole time here, this Leicester situation and prospect of them needing a new manager in a few month is the first time I've been genuinely concerned of him leaving to go elsewhere.
-
A quick look at a Leicester City forum, and most are firmly against the idea of Benitez as their manager - preferring Puel, Wagner or Rodgers. Oh dear. He deserves better than Leicester, does Rafa, and part of the reason I say that, is that it would be tormenting and heartbreaking to see him go there and do inevitably wonderful things with their resources that far surpass anything we're likely to have in the foreseeable future.

Jesus man, it’s going to break my heart if/when he leaves. Easily my favourite personality in all of football.

Reckon Hoss could do well for Pinatar CF (Spanish 4th division). -
