  1. Hopefully being protected for his imminent move to West Brom with Rondon coming the other way.
  2. I read earlier there's still some paper work that needs doing or something so he can't play yet... not sure what like. No Dubravka is worrying mind.
  3. Fans right on the players backs already
  4. Sunderland's defending in this opening 10 minutes has been absolutely dire Dare I say league 2 level...
  5. Was assistant, before being given the job full time at the end of last season. Wasn't one I thought would go into management tbh. Hope he steers his side to victory today
  6. Lee Bowyer is Charlton manager? What?
  7. They'd be doing everyone a favour if they didn't bother trying tbh
  8. You should ask him out, life's too short.
  9. Ana, what a dreadful 20 minutes of football this has been
  10. Lascelles is going to be linked with moves away in each transfer window going forward. I don't think he's going anywhere just yet.
  11. What's weird about not really minding that a player who has shown nothing to suggest he's up to this level is being moved on? Was it weird to you when Romain Amalfitano was moved on for next to nothing too? Because I don't see why this is any different just because it's Adam Armstrong. Have you also considered that maybe he wants to move, too? It would be a smart decision if it was the case that he preferred to move and settle somewhere rather than returning to NUFC every year uncertain of where his future lies, similar in a way to Atsu at Chelsea before moving permanently to us.
  12. What's the point in this sale? Young, local, doing fairly decent in his current club on loan. Yet we're basically giving him away. Fuck off. Because he's not deemed good enough for this level? Have you seen anything from him to suggest he is? You can't hold onto players forever in hope that they'll come good just because they're local. He's 21, not fucking 25. Local, u21 England player, loves the club and clearly has important qualities. There's simply no need to sell him at this point. Especially looking at our current state. He can’t be any worse than Joselu or Gayle. Not a chance. I don’t particularly rate him but he’s got to be a better option than those clowns. He can be worse, and he must be worse (despite having age on his side). He's been a senior for over 4 years now and has done nothing in a Newcastle shirt nor has he particularly excelled in the Championship when out on loan there. Done well in League One but that's about it. I don't want to judge him too harshly given the small amount of times he's actually appeared for us, but personally I didn't see anything good about him. He's supposedly quick and has good feet, but so do a lot of lads in parks & on 5-a-side pitches, there's a lot more you need to become an effective player at a high level. Joselu & Gayle are obviously much better equipped despite both of their deficiencies. Think about this too, he's been a senior for over 4 years, during which many different coaches have been at our club, none of which have fancied having him around the first team for more than the odd friendly or sub appearance and the rare start. There has to be a reason for that. I'm not being purposefully critical of him, just reasonable.

  14. He's Toulouse's captain unless they've changed it recently so you would imagine that fact alone would command a fee. Probably not happening.
  15. What I love most about Rafa in this situation, is that you get the impression he would act in the same way if any other club was being purposefully neglected by their owner. Of course he and our fan base have grown great affinity, warmth and appreciation towards one another, but beyond that that I believe it hurts him to see a club (regardless of which) being used in such a way - such is his love for football. I think even his efforts will likely be in vain where Mike Ashley is concerned, but however fruitless, there's something quite powerful & moving about a fan base, more united, more inspired than it has been in over a decade, standing behind a manager who simply won't act as a conductor of the lies and neglect, and is willing to stand with and for the fans he fully realises have suffered at the hands of this regime. I really appreciate him. A sincere, intelligent and all too rare man.
  16. I wish I could just enjoy my football team man. I always love getting geared up for the start of the season, yet barring last time which was fairly positive, it feels like we're constantly on the brink of meltdown & the football itself, the reason why we're all here is completely secondary. I've been hearing about protest this, protest that for fucking years and nothing has happened. Just want to be able to enjoy the football team I'm so fond of. In fact, not even that, I just want some semblance of normality, everything is so bloody dramatic all of the time.
  17. (even Spurs is too early to judge properly, tbh) I’d agree with that at any other club. However, we can see what’s happening quite clearly. Idk, last season we were pretty poor up until the new year. I won't be writing anyone off or making any conclusive judgements after the Spurs game, despite the fact we've obviously got a tough season ahead and will be riding our luck as we did last.
  18. His honesty in interviews is always greatly appreciated and has been a breath of fresh air given the what went on before him. An all too rare dignified, sincere & honest man in this sport.
