Keith Downie has tweeted that talks are ongoing and both sides are confident an agreement will be reached. One thing he said was that PCP want to add a relegation clause where they will be compensated if it happens this season. Seems a bit strange to me if the takeover happens before January and they haven't bought enough players to stay up then is a bit cheeky to say here Ashley give us some money back man.

Didn't he buy the club for £240m, and then pay off debt worth £110m through his interest free loan? Would be interested to know how much he has put in, but it's irrelevant really - the amount of money he's been robbing for the club year-on-year. I think he bought the club for about £120million and loaned us £130 million so total £250 million so even at £300 million he is making a decent profit.

Pete Graves is the one to listen to. I was told about a month ago he is related somehow to Staveley and to watch out for his tweets. Not sure how if even if he is deffinetly related like but worth mentioning.

I am holding on to the hope that surely they would have at least discussed a price and it's been out their in the news for ages that PCP value the club at £300 million. If Ashley thought that was taking the piss it would have been passed to PCP that he just wouldn't accept that.

I think this is just final checks and looking at old sponsorship deals and revenues to get a good understanding of the business. I don't think it will be along process to look at these. These were probably asked for weeks ago and if they are looking at these then it's currently the end game of due diligence. It might be me being to positive but I have a feeling something positive will come out this week.

look like you I wouldn't believe some random daft fucker on a forum but just wanted to pass on what I was told. Thing is with our local press they have admitted on Twitter (well Douglas has) about holding things back because they have been asked too. They are desperate to have a link to the club like they had during the Shepherd and Hall era. They could know and have been asked not to say anything. He has honestly heard this at the training ground. Last thing he told me was that Staveley was at the ground and that was the night before it all came out that she had visited St James park for talks (it was a Tuesday and some London paper ran the Story the next day) so I am holding out hope. If she has been at the ground etc, and it is a big if as it is third hand info, then she has taken more interest in the club the last 3 weeks than Ashley has in 10 years and that can only be a huge positive.
