I’m actually hopeful he will stay, and that stems from Liverpool almost being reluctant buyers. it all looks like it’s the players camp that are pushing it. Liverpool seem to be like, if he is available we won’t say no, but this wasn’t the plan. Therfore they won’t break the bank.

Don’t know if this is the correct thread. However if this is true it’s a worry. It means the champions league games will be played on a weekend. The tv contracts will be changed. Now imagine Newcastle v Brighton at 5.30 on a Saturday night while Barcelona v Manchester City is on another channel. In effect the teams in the champions league will get huge amounts of money as this is aimed at the American and Asian market. The money for tv rights for the premiership will be hughgly reduced.

How come the top teams never turn out teams like this when we play them? We would win comfortably for once.

Every season a couple of shit teams have a good cup run. Even championship and division one occasionally. Why can’t we? Just once, a 1/4 or semi final.

The only positive from the whole day was Sean Longstaff making his debut. He done more in those 17 minutes than some players did all match. And by all accounts a nice lad. My lad plays for North Shields 16yr olds and he comes after training with Newcastle to watch them train and offer encouragement. The lack of good youngsters making it in recent years from Tyneside is not good. Good luck to him.
