These charts for wage expenditure - is this just for first team squad? Entire playing staff? Manager and coaches too? Or is it literally EVERYONE at the club who receives a wage?

Yeah - all this whole sorry mess has done is expose what a shitshow the PL is, its clubs, its owners, its sponsors everyone. We all knew it was dirty, but i think most of us didnt realise just how dodgy whole structure was.

I know hes not gonna but.... If he did resign it would actually be the first thing he did that I would admire. And if he had a bit of nous about him, he could twist the resignation into saying his hands were tied at every turn, jones brought in without his approval, etc etc and salvage his reputation somewhat for his next job.

That transfer policy is bollocks though. Theres no point in buying the next Messi for a bargain fee if it means gayle (with his new contract) and Joelinton (with his big outlay) miss out or it pushes another player out of position. We need the right players in the right positions. We cant even do that with the existing playing staff never mind new ones.

This season has relagation written all over it. Ashley will make some panic buys in January in an effort to stay up but it'll be for players that arnt needed (ala Joelinton) in positions that arnt priorities. And next season, we will still have a disjointed squad with at least half of it dead wood. Round and around we go.

Weve signed 1 player, and to be honest 20m-25m is a chunk of dosh for a very good player, to get level with where we were LAST SEASON. Every fucker else is replacing, upgrading, improving on their CURRENT playing squad for this year. We havnt stood still, weve regressed. Again. Even with the 5m per year for willock, even with the spare squad place with shortstaff leaving, even with the 4 or 5 players that have left the club and free'd up the wage bill, WEVE STILL REGRESSED. The PL is supposed to be the pinnicle of football in this country and, some say, in Europe. Its where the cream rises to the top, where elite level athletes compete, where great players, great coaches all come to ply their trade. And then theres us.
