Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-1 Newcastle United (28/08/2022)

I'm judging his contributions to this football club over several seasons. He'll be lucky if his average rating is 5 out of 10 and we need to move on from that. -

The time we never see Longstaff in a black and white shirt again can't come soon enough. I'd like it to be this week. Abysmal is his default, whether its Tranmere, Wolves or whoever. It wouldn't be ruthless ambition just professional -

The manic depression here is a bit much like. We've Targett, Bruno, Shelvey, Wilson injured in a thread-bare squad and a new signing cant play. We've gone behind in a game there's nowt in. Defence apart this is a Bruce team -

Down to our last centre-midfielders. Nowt in reserve now. I say now, nowt in reserve before Bruno/Shelvey were injured tbh -

Even the 1950's is generous. Last trophy was mid 30s. Relegated in 58, 3rd bottom in 57 and 15th in the second division in 59 and 16th the following season. We had bigger attendances the vast majority of the time and when we didn't it was by 1k and won the cup three times that decae. Man United and Wolves winnning the league 3 times in the 50s have decent cause for complaint too.

Gets his defence in first, reminding everyone what a great guy he is, before he shows the exact opposite
-
Dunno whether I'd rather loan him to them with a recall clause in case of injury/suspension and forget a fee or insist on a fee and take our chances.

Been wondering the same. When they were both in the PL and a player had a choice - going to Stoke wouldn't have shocked anyone. Yet after being in Div3 for 4years they're a much bigger draw?

Despite being Boro through and through whenever we've crossed swords with Mowbray he's never shown any bile, Woodgate had one or two sneaky little jibes, and dont dislike him at all. Wouldn't say he's a sensible appointment because they had no choice but by necessity he'll be okay if they can cope with someone from Boro getting midtable results.

Seems a one in six record is easy for him to tick over on he's enthused such inertia in people, pity really
-
Kicking them when they're down, that's just Krul that.

Right bland looking bunch of fixtures this was, Southampton Man U levels expected to continue - 3 drab home wins and a tense bore at Brighton but a fine afternoons entertainment all in all.
-
Got to be a first. (5 0-0 in 6 has to be too)
-
Surely still the record though. numerous more internationals now than there was but they still count caps/goals
-
Andy Cole got 34 in 93/94 (41 all comps)
-
Cole still got the record?

This Preston situation is ridiculous. 0-0 again. 5 of their games so far have been 0-0, the other 0-1. A good remedy for all the other chaos
-
Bournemouth have Wolves next. Will win it and keep a clean-sheet. How it goes
-
Brighton result looks better. They don't even concede chances
-
Alex Neil's red and white army beating Blackburn - Tomasson's promising start has faded into utter dreck. Sounds familiar

What's the deal with Maddison, not involved today
