Anelka and Souness definitely wouldn't have worked. Well Souness and anybody really on the footballing side but that was just asking for trouble.
-
Nope. Had a bad feeling about it and always thought he was monstrously overrated, which by the time we paid all that money out, had already been proven. Had a Ronaldo to Inter feel about it, too much money, focus. Except you can't compare the two for talent - except the media here fkn did for years.

Darlington and Spennymoor are miles away and in different counties with no NUFC ties and probably at least as many anti-NUFC fans as pro. The point is that Gateshead are the most prominent local non-league team and just happen to be adjacent to Newcastle with a lot of ties. -
I kinda has happened to us though. the PL not the CL obviously but on a much harsher scale than Man City cos it might have been our best and only chance 1-0 up at Blackburn and cruising after losing a last minute goal at Liverpool the week before having lead twice, and losing two goals in the last few minutes to a blokes fifteen seconds of fame rest of my life, Barcelona 97 aside, has felt just a show since
-
They'll recover cos they'll go close again next season, I think that's part of why they're not that passionate, they know they'll be back for the league/CL the next season and have as good a chance as any. For us in 96, might have been our only shot. Not that I/we ever got over that mind.

Man City just aren't blessed/lucky in this competition. Real Madrid and Liverpool most definitely are and always have been.
-
If these massive fanbases manifested themselves in attendances neither of them would be in the third tier but games in the PL at either ground where there weren't thousands of empty seats were rare.
-
First semi-final they might fill the ground for since us in 1990. Palace empty seats, Man U league-cup semi half-full, Portsmouth half-full. But aye go on about how great your support is for a one off like its typical and get exceptions and rules mixed up
-
Klopp drug a performance out of them again
-
That's up near the airport no? What a mate reckons anyway
-
Giveth with one hand and takes away with the other fkn Boringmouth 1 up

Luton's ground is horrible but so unique I'm glad its still there. Got there for the 94 cup game, terraces above seating at one end, all exectuive boxes to the left, ramshackle old stand to the right and in the away end you basically have to walk through a regular house and up the stairs and across the back garden to get into.
-
Both right. Went down with the mackems and Boro in 96/97, came back up, and went down again in 98/99. Never lost against them in the PL. Not a million miles away. They're my preference.

I heard the Royal Mail were slashing deliveries to some areas. You don't get many free samples through the door any more. and so on and so forth
-
First time I've done everyones fixtures instead of just the teams that were below us a few months ago. Got Southampton going down on goal difference from Brentford (who I've got on the beach relative to the other teams they play (Everton, Leeds)) - they play next I believe. Lot of 'six pointers' between teams below us. So effectively on that paralell universe that game is the decider.
-
I was a huge Robert fan and argued many a time that his goals and goals created were worth the price of his laziness defensively. Defending is part of the team. Offensively no problems. Milner is a great team player. probably no more useful than Robert in attack, but look at the difference in careers.
-
Ginola got no heat under KK, Gascoigne, Tino and Solano were beloved. Solano had as much flair as Robert but the consistency disguised it. The only flair players that some fans had a problem with weren't great team players or didn't produce tangible goods enough to off-set that: Robert, Mirandinha, and ASM. Its why these players don't have great careers generally.

Knew somehow a club owned by a woman that's got 22,000 for a women's game in the 4th tier including a lot of families and a lot of young lasses and a lovely moment for all concerned that otherwise would have never happened just had to be the epitome of evil.
-
There's no way these are going down sadly.
-
They remind me of O'Neill's Leicester - Lennon, Savage, Izzet, Walsh, Claridge, Marshall, boring strip and ground, spoiling bores arses
-
Everton v us and Man United all over again.
-
I/we mentioned 3. So obviously not. ASM is the only one borderline. Like Gazza was. The others we know are or aren't good enough.
-
Tell this bitter cvnt that the reason we spent that in line with FFP and the reason we were down there is because of Ashley's underspending and general holding us back putting us at that disadvantage compared to these helpless other clubs. Norwich weren't being held back and didn't have the capacity to do that whilst Everton have massively overspent
-
Mostly not but there's no debate about them, that's more like Winterburn, Clough and Smith trying to get in - nobody's even watching them really - whilst Gazza has a chance and is entertaining and you actually want him to, if he'll buckle down. Fraser might on account of being useful and reliable now. He'd be Trevor Steven. Maxi-pads (I bet that's already been done, but just in case)
