  1. We'd consider it demanding if it were Brazil or Argentina but this objectively is more like Denmark or Belgium fans complaining about winning a group but not in the manner they expect - which I don't recall England ever doing
  2. Cant think of a worse group in European Championship history.
  3. Shocking turn of events - Mitro booked for losing his head (had his shirt pulled and could have been a pen though)
  4. Get knocked out at the first hurdle with better attacking talent like in 2000 perhaps
  5. Denmark Serbia is no treat either. Group of bored to death.
  6. Any odds on an ear-cupping goal celebration? Ton of criticsm from the media and fans has served them well in the past
  7. Just make signing a 'no compete' clause mandatory upon Premier League membership. Ambition is becomming a dirty word when until very recently its precisely what fans wanted and dream of for their clubs, now its like some sort of perverse anti-football fantasy
  8. Weird the amount of effort they'll put in and amount of rules they'll change to keep the red clubs/Spurs happy. They ought to have a think about why they're putting so much legislation into football and jumping through so many hoops instead of just doing so and whether its worth it just to preserve a self annointed status quo. Especially if its fear of them breaking away.
  9. Opportunistic browsing given Everton's apparent need to sell and last year of his contract - if that's not reflected in the cost, no sweat we'll just stick, were the ones doing him/them the favour here that might have worked out well for all parties. Like to think we could revist in January if needs be with injuries for a more reasonable sub20mill fee
  10. Perhaps in our case but Chelsea for sure sign so many that they know only a few will play any amount of games for them and the rest are just assets to trade off.
  11. If anything its a foul by Armstrong. Accidentally or otherwise he causes the initial trip that causes the Hungarian to begin to fall and makes sure of it by hauling him down by his shirt. Its one thing to get in front of the defenders but you don't see people do it in that obvious and ungainly a fashion which made it at least look very much look like he was desperate for contact to take the dive. All the Hungarian arguably did wrong was get his arm slightly across the chest and it would have been extremely harsh to give it for that. Daft really as it was by far their best chance of the game and should have been more concerrned with getting a shot off. *Also wants a "European" ref. Like they speak Argentinian in Argentina.
  12. Old Patrick Kluivert did for them in 96 even after they actually won. Its got to be a joke on them. Great news.
  13. Had as good a team as England until their total dominance started in 1987. Also just remembered Ferguson was in the crowd, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
  14. They're cursed on two fronts. By being an awful team fully warranting the defeat and exit but the manner of it, though just, feels like a cosmic joke all the same.
  15. Incredible how he's made such a pigs ear out of something that should have been so trivial and could even now be sorted by simply paying the money were due - on top of which I cant see Ashworth being worth the faff.
  16. Was expecting a "however the belt can only change hands by pinfall or submission....."
  17. I know what you mean. There's stuff on there that you cant believe is legit and must be fishing, smoking them out, provoking bizarre comments. There's a concept that we started referring to ourselves as "Toon" because of them and doubled-down on it when they became a city and some jealousy was involved at our end somehow despite having been a city for 100years. Someone saying they went to both Sunderland's European away games and have you ever seen a Mag in Lisbon or Budapest (we've played at least six times in those citys) and Look North has deliberately been showing Sunderland in a bad light for years and promoting Newcastle. It would honestly work as a parody
  18. Makes at least as much sense to back the club given their record as it does attack them about ffp forcing them to sell a player that's never kicked a ball in the premier league
  19. In an ffp world I don't know what else the club is supposed to do. You have to sell to buy and you cant sell players nobody wants. Even Man City do this, Chelsea practically live off it. The red clubs seem to not have to, surprise surprise.
  20. Seemed like the sort of goal they could find something to rule it out for if they were so minded
