North East Wooden Spoon derby. Mackems aiming to make it 8 in row an probably a record.

I thought this was working quite well anyway and quite naturally. Everton overspent and blew it and paid the price with their owner having enough of putting money in, Forest speculated to accumlate - could have gone tits up but it worked out. Both are being punished. Man City have really held themselves back from what they could do, adding a player here and there and everyone said we were doing good business that was probably enhanced by not splashing the cash scatter gun like Chelsea/Man City/Blackburn all did, and Villa have followed suit but its still not held back enough.

They've just rushed this through in their haste to prevent being overhauled and wrapped it up in bow of the baloney about suddenly caring about the small clubs to think this through properly. Almost making stagnation mandatory.
-
They had a picture of Shearer missing a penalty against them as pride of place in the foyer of their ground for years. But statues of our and the league's historic top scorer and Sir Bobby at SJP is a struggle to grasp?

Nothing in this by the looks. Shame, FFP being relaxed is exactky the sort of thing that would make those two bairns react like this.

God it was grim and pure Tyldsley.

Need a better source on Arteta surely. If true though, feels like something's going.

FAC R5: Blackburn Rovers (A): 27/02/24 @ DELAYED 20:00 (Live on BBC One)

Ronnie Radford and Mickey Thomas goals non-stop if Wrexham. Some JDT retro anecdotes from his time with us if Blackburn. The quality of goals would vary drastically. But the quantity virtually identical. -
Tyldsley and Dixon must have him questioning his outlook tonight. Best to sit this one out.

Didnt know them that well as a player either the Tin Tin looking c8nt but it didn't matter to Gerald Ashby.
-
Did't enjoy that. Compounded by the commentary team from hell. Look like were playing in treacle. Knew that was off as soon as Murphy buried with uncustomary aplomb

with FFP you imagine nobody can realistically pay £100m for anyone without selling a bunch of players.

FA Cup Fourth Round Draw - Fulham (a) on 27/01/24 @ 7pm (Live on ITV4)

Probably the most intriguing game at Fulham in my time. Though that's not a high bar. Cant call it, think its going to be close and interesting. -
He'll become a better player to his detractors after he leaves I predict. Though I trust the club to improve, its a much taller order than people think. His goal involvements and work rate is tough order to improve on. He's flawed but its a bit like Robert. One foot, lazy but his two footed, hard working replacements neither produced nor threatened to produce a third of what Robert did.

They went from hating Di Canio to forgetting their purported morals and loving him because they beat us. Peter Reid, despite all he did, lasted a few months once the laurels of not losing to us and not finishing behind us. The turn on Bruce was because they kept getting beat of us. Got to wonder how hated he'd be if they'd have won.
-
Cant speak to the coverage cos just find it easy to avoid all this stuff if you want to but I do wonder if its surpassed Ferguson and Wenger leaving, I wouldn't be surprised if it did and yet it shouldn't. Sir Bobby's resignation or more the agreement that he would step down at the end of 04/05 was so un-reported on that a lot of our fanbase don't even know it was the case. Though his actual sacking yes. Recall a traces of smug glee about Keegan leaving from the nationals but locally it was legit like a death. Just a strange feeling for days.

Barnsley I can see. Definitely not the others. Prior to their modern day successes Brighton had more time in the topflight than Barnsley/Grimsby/Plymouth/Hull/Rotherham combined with at least similar support to all of those mentioned. Not saying they've not done great and smartly however, just that they're not a Wimbledon.
-
They probably have to sell now having breached ffp also ffp limits how much people can pay them, which they have to bare in mind
-
Guess it comes down to how much or little of a virtue you see in repeat Chelsea/Man City situations. I didn't like Blackburn at the time for this reason and Abramovich finished any love of the game off but in hindsight without Blackburn, Man City and Chelsea the premier league would have been shite and people would be complaining about Man United and Arsenal alternating the title. Could argue there was no reason for Liverpool to get involved in that had Chelsea not happened and broke up the strangle hold that we couldn't be legit means, they certaintly weren't serious contenders before.
-
Yes. I'm worried by the assumption that further injuries wont happen. If we leave a position light, knowing us this season, they almost certainly will.
-
Did they not have Balotelli's brother on trial or something at some point too? Wouldn't have even known he had one until I heard about that I feel. Their attempts to be first rate always make it glaring how second rate they are. Stadium name, badge rip off, flag display, signing runts etc
-
There's an owner out there apparently looking for a cheap pick up that they've rated for 15years, since they want KLD out. Seems perfect. Hopefully something can be arranged.
-
Did us a solid with Ruel Fox too. £4.5m wasn't it? Sellars, Neilson, Venison and Mathie and that paid for Ginola, Ferdinand, Barton and Shaka. KK nailing ffp before ffp was a thing.
-
Benefits them if they are sick of trying to compete and just want to go through the motions every year of having even greater advantages over newly promoted teams and no way to catch up to the teams ahead. I found it alluring the possibility of fluctuating status amongst clubs.Holding some back, stopping others (punishments aside) from imploding kinda feels like a procession. Takeovers and rich owners have been the only thing that's shuffled the pack since the PL started. Thankfully Ashley checked out when he did, this would have been ideal for the likes of him.

His (Beale's) record is probably similar to or better than every manager they've had since they got promoted under Keane 17years and four different owners ago. Wonder if its not just the club rather than a multitude of managers as that was achieved with a serious amount of no longer possible financial doping
