  1. That post game interview then. What a great personality. Really well spoken and engaging, very humble too.

We’ve got such a gem here. Everton must rue the day they hounded this lad out.

  2. If Eddie thinks he’s one of the core group then move him to center half ffs. The lad isn’t a left back/wing back whilst he’s got a hole in his arse.

This is pretty much where I am. Ultimately the other clubs are also pushing to increase revenue which is why during the Ashley years the a chasm opened between us and the big 6. So in order to progress we have to close the gap which is difficult because we are limited by FFP. We are not allowed to invest into the business because of the rules    I know it’s repeated a lot but I truly can’t get over this.

So basically we are left hoping for miracles, or we have to become the best traders in football to open up headroom, so when we sell a Bruno we need to find two more.

This is really bang on the money. Also don’t forget that when a club does start making headway in unearthing gems and getting a bit of a momentum going on a player production conveyer belt - the top 6 circle around like vultures and start picking up the back room staff responsible, plucking them root and stem from said club and transferring them over to their own. So then the process has to start all over again. It’s absolutely fucking minging.

Think we just need 2 or 3 players at the right level.

    RW, LB, CB.

I agree with other sentiments that we probably need a striker and CM to add to that list as well. That’s 5 players. That’s at least two more summer windows imo to get the right players in and that’s fighting against FFP ans whatever other new rule the league want to try and hamstring us with. We’re still a way off from competing consistently.

  5. For me, he’s earned a bit of leeway this year. Last year was immense but this year there’s definitely some legitimate questions about his selection policy and in game management. We don’t see the inner goings on on the training pitch but we do see what happens on a Saturday - and it’s happening time and time and time again. I love Eddie but I can’t shake the feeling that there’s something of “Southgate” about him where he picks his mates and is far too slow or afraid to change things when it’s clearly not working.

Summer will be interesting, we obviously need a striker, a proper left back and a backup center half. If he gets them then there’s zero excuses to persevere with the same mediocre players - Burn and Almiron being chief suspects. I hope it clicks for him and he proves mine and others doubts to be false but I’m slightly worried, not gunna lie.
