  1. My favourite bit during his time here was the way he’d rough up anyone who scored a goal during a celebration 🙂 some class photos of even Mitro looking well put out.

And quite publicly calling Steve Bruce out for the tramp that he is.

  2. ChatGPT…

(To the tune of "My Old Man's a Dustman")

    🎵

    He turned down Chelsea’s offer,
Said no to Man United too,
He came to wear the black and white,
He’s here for me and you,

    Oh Tosin, oh Tosin,
    You’re our Geordie pride,
You chose the mighty Toon Army,
    And left the rest behind!

From Stamford Bridge to Old Trafford,
    They all wanted you,
    But Tosin saw the glory,
    Of playing for the Toon!

    Oh Tosin, oh Tosin,
    You’re our Geordie pride,
You chose the mighty Toon Army,
    And left the rest behind!

  3. Oh a match fit Joe Willock gets in the side ahead of pretty every midfielder bar Bruno.

His injury wasn’t just last season. He picked up the injury the season before towards the end vs Man Utd iirc. That was beginning of April 2023.

He’s been fucked ever since then. Like Shearer came back from an ACL in the 90’s quicker than it’s taken Willock now with the achilles issue.

Time will tell but this looks like something that they could have opted for with surgery but our good old medical team opted against.

Of course they are but doesn’t mean I’m wrong. I don’t see him regaining fitness here.

  5. We all know he’s good enough to be in this side, the question is his fitness.

I think a 6 month loan would do him wonders.. build up his fitness in a side that doesn’t quite demand as much as here. Give his body a chance to adjust.

Anyone know anything of note this guy has done in this role throughout his career ? Only thing I can find is he discovered Werner.

I know the multi club setup that 777 had (or have) saw him in a sort of “area manager” type role where local sporting directors would report into him and he would go about spending a few weeks with individual clubs, talking to staff and players.

This is much more of a hands on day to day role so in a sense it’s a step back from the high level he’s operating at currently.

My thoughts on it would be that the club will, in the near future be following a similar model and essentially letting him set up the blueprint for how the other clubs will operate based on what’s set up at Newcastle.

Then as things grow he’ll fall back into a similar role of what he had at 777 and individual clubs will have local people.

For what it’s worth I was more excited about the links to this guy than Freedman but time will tell. We really need that link between club and boardroom in as soon as possible.

  7. If I remember correctly the general feeling when Pope signed was that he wasn’t a significant upgrade on Dubravka, this turned out to be nonsense. He’s a much much better shot stopper and positional sense around the box adds so much so our back line.

But he can’t kick. He’s got those skinny little legs that for whatever reason he never chose to work on.

Can we work with that for another season? Sure.. but it means holding possession we need to play out from the back at all times.

  8. An odd statement to put out when there wasn’t all that much anger to begin with. Frustration at the cup final result yes, but that goes away after a few days.

The remark about a possible new Sponsor being discussed while in Monaco was a strange comment to throw out there. They go to the F1 frequently, she shouldn’t have to apologise for it.

The comment about management is telling, I think she may be officially a co-owner but effectively with their stake diminishing, they are at the behest of the Directors PIF have in place.

She’s a bit of a liability with her comments at times.. that Steve Bruce one was very misplaced even though it was probably true.

I thought the whole point of having Eales and other capable people in was so that she didn’t have to do things like this.

Personally wouldn’t want or trust Krafth to be our back up RB all season. Personally think he is a really poor player.

He’s poor at RB for sure. He can be competent at CB in certain games but like a lot of players, he doesn’t do well with power and pace.. or either which is almost par for course in the Premier League now.

He’s not a saleable asset though and not on huge wages so he’s not really a candidate for moving on for the sake of it. He’s a part to play.

Kayode? Sounds Nigerian. Awaiting Kaka to tell us he's unreal.

Very fast, great engine, solid defender and is a threat going forward. He’d be a starter for sure which can only mean they’d be looking at playing Tino at left back?

I want us to be less of a soft touch again away from home and I want to see us being more ruthless both in mentality and clinically. The Liverpool home game was a prime example. Not really knowing how to close it out and floundering then getting nervous. But that also comes down to personnel with someone like Miggy fluffing his lines with finishing or failing to put in the killer pass (from memory) to finish Liverpool off.

That Liverpool game set the stage for the season really. It exposed fatigue issues in the team even at that early stage. We wilted as they came on strong towards the end and lots of games went that way throughout the season.

Why? Not 100% sure, I suspect the pre season may not have been ideal or maybe we just weren’t rested enough after the heroics of season before where we were anything but vulnerable in latter stages of games.

Game management was spot on. We also stopped a lot of the shithousery, and again, not sure why as it was working for us.

  12. With the lack of European football we can probably muster a strong league campaign but I don’t have confidence that we’ll be challenging for anything. Even with the players we have. 4th is probably the best that could happen.

I can be more than happy with that in relation to where we were only just a few short years ago but the side of me that wants that constant progress is more just concerned that we’re pretty much writing the coming season off to wait for the FFP rule changes for following season. Killing time essentially, but also fucking some of our players over too, like Bruno who deserves the best version of this club immediately.

Would have to join the group to see it - what was it?

Joelinton dancing with his bride.. Bruno comes up behind and starts humping him.. Big Joe looking less than impressed ?

  14. I mean, for as bad as Man Utd have been and they have been rank for a good portion, they’ve still won 2 trophies with Ten Hag. It’s quite impressive given the gulf between them and the top teams in the league.

  15. Don’t think he wants away, he’s smart enough to know Man City are set for a downfall in one way or another. Pep has said he’ll do 1 more season.. there may not be much competition this year so he could well go.

Man Utd are a basket case

    Chelsea are a basket case

    Arsenal? Not after that song.

Liverpool set for a dip after manager change.

    Spurs? Not a chance.

We’ll consolidate this summer and make some improvements. But next summer we’ll go for it.. the rules will finally allow it.

So he’s as likely to win something here than any of the other clubs mentioned aside from Man City who have 1 season left at the top imho..

  16. I think Dyche has toughened him up a bit, at least trained him in a way that prevented injury recurrences.

But he can look like a bit of a passenger in games sometimes, sort of similar to how Joselu looked a bit docile at times when he used to play for us. No way Howe would accept that.

You want to see players with that sort of physical presence absolutely bully defenders.. he’s definitely got that in his game but it’s rarely seen.

Anither concern is how long it would take him to get up to the level required in terms of fitness seeming it took AG 7 months.

  17. Sort of seems like a short term Chris Wood type move. Looks like he could be available for more games than Wilson likely would and he’ll score goals if given chances, add to the threat from corners etc.. but he’d be shipped off as soon as we had a chance to upgrade properly.. which I have no issue with.

Would they really sell for 25m though, I think it’s a fair price but if roles were reversed perhaps not.

Not to me. That would mean we're out of pockey £5-6 million, the money we paid Brighton, his first x amount of months work and his continuing contactual obligation. We were stitched!

    Go to arbitration!

He’s not on massive money. The info I had all along was that the club were happy to keep him gardening.

Now we know why. If he’d acted properly and in good faith maybe this mess would have been sorted long ago.
