There’s no guarantee he’s staying. Let’s see where we are at the end of the window. Ritchie won’t want another season of no first team football
-
Guaranteed starter and they reckon £200k per week ??♂️
-
This lad looks similar to Paqueta in terms of style, technique and position, but at a fraction of the cost.
-
Let's confine that term to the bin along with everything else Ashley-related
-
Let's be honest, none of the signings we've made so far have been sexy - a keeper, a loan player we already know and another CB. The ones we all get excited about are offensive players and we haven't seen any yet, after 6 months of anticipation or 12 years depending on how you want to look at it. I imagine the frustration would've been tempered if the world cup was on, but there's so little decent sport on that it's difficult not to obsess a bit.
-
I also think we'd have wanted a loan to buy, to keep it within our 'budget'
-
I think we're more likely to sign a #10 than a proper CM. Eddie seems to rate S Longstaff, loves Shelvey and has Bruno and Joe to chose from as well. Unless someone like Willock leaves I think we'll go with what we've got in that area.
-
I think you're underestimating the value of a striker who would virtually guarantee you 25 goals in the championship and a decent shot at promotion, 33 or not. £10-12m is probably a bit rich but £6-8m should be realistic
-
Seems pretty reasonable all things considered. He's shown he can play at this level, he's young and in today's market £30m is not a lot for a striker
-
Tielemans/Paqueta Broja Diaby or similar That would be some transfer window! Top 6 challengers.
-
I think that's bollocks! If we want him, I reckon he'll choose us over most other clubs. He wants to play with his besty and knows he'll be worshiped by the Toon Army.
-
I love it! Fuck the haters, it's a great looking kit. I understand why people are up in arms but the game is full of hypocrites (fans, pundits and players) who'll happily ignore controversial partnerships elsewhere in the league but slam us for our Saudi links. The media has been fan-girling over Roman Abramovich for over a decade and he's a criminal Russian oligarch FFS. Fuck em all, i'm buying it.
-
We absolutely should, but I imagine his wages would shatter our structure so we won’t ☹️
-
We cannot go into this season with Fraser being a guaranteed starter - i'm not even sure he's PL quality. And Wilson with Wood backup is frightening.
-
These two words do not belong in the same sentence, regardless of context. 'Wood will be our sub and prolific misser of easy headed chances' is more like it.

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

Depends how thorough we want to be with his medical I suppose -

That’s class! -
I’m sure he’d do a job in the championship and there will be plenty of clubs looking for a striker. Even if we can’t sell him, send him out on loan and maybe he’ll do well enough that we can sell him next year. It can’t be doing his confidence any good playing like he has been for the past few months and I can’t see him improving.

Question for 10 - what’s the easiest way to generate clicks during the transfer window? -

The conga fits his name perfectly: Du du du, Hugo Ekitike! Du du du Ekitike scores (or something less shit than that) -
The second and third best teams in the Championship?? Seriously?! They’re both absolutely terrible!
-
People turning their noses up at a current England international goalkeeper?!
-
Seriously?! The guy is absolutely class! Our player of the season and new Brazilian star are hardly racehorses and they're tearing shit up. As long as we've got pace at fullback and in the forward positions I think it would work a treat. We wont get him mind, i was just highlighting the mould of player i think we should be after
-
The perfect solution would be Ruben Neves tbh - deep lying playmaker that can do the dirty work but also chip in going forward and score some worldies on top
-
Agreed! I didn’t expect him to be good but i at least expected physical presence, aerial prowess and maybe 5-6 goals. He’s been abysmal by anyone’s standards
