The ones we all get excited about are offensive players and we haven't seen any yet, after 6 months of anticipation or 12 years depending on how you want to look at it. I think we're more likely to sign a #10 than a proper CM. Eddie seems to rate S Longstaff, loves Shelvey and has Bruno and Joe to chose from as well. Unless someone like Willock leaves I think we'll go with what we've got in that area.

I think you're underestimating the value of a striker who would virtually guarantee you 25 goals in the championship and a decent shot at promotion, 33 or not. £10-12m is probably a bit rich but £6-8m should be realistic

Even if we can’t sell him, send him out on loan and maybe he’ll do well enough that we can sell him next year. It can’t be doing his confidence any good playing like he has been for the past few months and I can’t see him improving.
