The point is that Liverpool fans are unified in having that specific political stance, that's what I'm saying I wish we had but we don't.
We couldn’t even organise ourselves properly to unify against Bruce or Ashley, never mind a political party.

That’s Feyenoord and Bilbao they’ve lost in a matter of weeks.

Nah...doesn't count.
"This, it was 2 games for £35.
Most of the 80k will be going to both games, there might 50k individuals there tops."https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/nufc-sportswashing-summer-2022.1582603/page-324
They’re fucked if we start counting attendances based on individual people as they all share the same genes.

Bit harsh blocking Haydn, he’s a bit of a tit but can be alright.

Yet we offered about the same. Should we do what Shepherd and Hall done with Luque and just ask clubs how much they want, they double what they actually want and we pay it ?
How much Newcastle tax are you happy paying ?
I’ve told you this twice now and you’re not understanding it, so I’ll just assume you’re a bit dim and never will.
The total sum of the transfer is different to the structure of the deal, which is the problem. Bidding £1m with £34m in instalments over 15 years would be underbidding.
Before you get too excited, that’s a hyperbole example to try and help you understand and I’m not suggesting that’s exactly what we did.

Didn’t we agree a fee for Ekitike but he didn’t want to move in Jan?
8 minutes ago, Fantail Breeze said:Yes, but because it took us so long to agree to the terms as we were haggling over the structure for weeks, Ekitike didn’t want to make a decision on deadline day and it lost us the deal.
This isn’t tough to understand.

If he was 100% up for it he would have come, but I'll give you that one.
I don't think based on that you could say that we made a hash of things in January at all, considering where we were going in and where we ended the season.
I think you're getting carried away because you think we should just pay whatever any club asks for a player we want, but you'll have to get over it, because we aren't going to be operating that way whether you like it or not.
Going into it targeting Ekitike, Botman and Carlos and coming out of it with Wood, Targett and Burn was a bit of a hash of it. As I said, also reported the same way by most journalists and Staveley herself.
You think wrong. Never once suggested we do that.

3 out of the 4 ends are Rangers. You're right, mad.
Also mad that they're 1-0 down.
Assume they do it because of the financial benefits as they’d never sell the tickets themselves, but it just seems odd.
Looks like the ends are pretty much neutral.

My goodness ...
You know Reims accepted our bid for Ekitike in January right.
And Dan burn was instrumental in keeping us up, which allowed us to ultimately end up getting Botman this summer anyway.
Yes, but because it took us so long to agree to the terms as we were haggling over the structure for weeks, Ekitike didn’t want to make a decision on deadline day and it lost us the deal.
This isn’t tough to understand.

It's also widely reported terms were agreed and his agent sent the deal down by wanting more
Not in January, which is what we’re talking about.

"Making a hash" of things is incredibly harsh like, and to be honest not even true, we tried to add quality, they didn't pay off so moved onto other targets.
Them targets then massively improved is and where one of the main reasons we stayed up.
It’s the same summary that most journalists gave towards the end of the window as we were scrambling around late trying to finalise our lower targets.
Even Staveley admitted it didn’t go to plan.

Underbid so much for Ekitike he went for less.
It’s widely reported the deal took so long to agree because of how we were proposing to structure it.

I’d rather we throw every penny we have at Maddison, sign a striker on loan and finish our business there if that’s all we have.

You think we made a hash of things in January?!
Going from Botman and Carlos to Dan Burn and failing to sign Ekitike, yes.

As I said I’m so baffled at our valuation and bidding of players . Never a hope of getting Maddison for anywhere near as low as £35m
We’ve consistently underbid for every player so far. Made a hash of January because of it.
If we’re going in for players like this we need to return to the table with a bid that’ll get him, we clearly have the ability to do so.
An initial low ball offer isn’t too bad, but we can’t drag them out trying to haggle too far like we did in January.
Sensible to not get totally ripped off but when you’re dealing with players like Maddison, you’re going to have to pay a sensible price.

Mad that Livingstone are at home but the stadium is nearly entirely Rangers fans.

I'm saying it. Forgive me, the whole RAWK comparison schtick is far more tedious than anything I might have mentioned.
The whole point being I wasn’t even criticising anything, just passing comment on it. I repeatedly said that it is a workable strategy, for now.
For people to jump to the defence of something that isn’t even being criticised is very RAWK like. That’s the whole definition.

Yeah, it's the best it's been for fifteen years, how odd people may want to defend the current set up in some minor way.
Can you let me know where anyone has said that? Or yet again, is this another made up point?
Weird how many people on here make up posts in their mind to respond to -

Why preface a mundane point with "I won’t go over this again because everyone get all upset, but it’s a Howe strategy no doubt about it."
And now "People getting worked up thinking there might be a tiny bit of criticism again " RAWK!
It's like you're trying to create some kind of pariah persona.
Well the responses have already proven both of my points to be highly accurate.

Id want Paqueta more then the next person, but Maddison put in slightly better numbers then him last season while playing in the Prem, they'd also probably be at similar price points. Maddison is probably the more prudent buy.
Leicester also had a terrible season last year. Maddison has been consistently good for them, even when as a squad they’ve been crap.
He’s had a few injuries though hasn’t he? Is that to be concerned about? May be misremembering.
