I think this is one where we not regret panic buying. I think he’s good but not transformative.
-
Yeah it would, for sure, I just don’t think poor Sean deserves all the shite he gets for essentially being a square peg in a round hole here. He’s never going to say, no Eddie you should play Sandro instead

Once again, people fail to see a system issue and want to kick the player instead. I agree with @KaKa's post above. What are Longstaff's strengths? Simple, uncomplicated passing that helps us to shift the focus of play, and those late runs either underlapping or onto the penalty spot to contribute with goals. Off the ball he give defensive workrate and recovery running, pressing, determination and some positional reliability. Are we currently playing to any of his strengths? No. We're attempting some form of possession ball (badly), we have a right back that doesn't offer width in the same way and doesn't progress the ball with passes. We have a right winger who is a natural right footer, which changes the patterns in the final 3rd, and we have had a centreback pairing that treat the ball like a bomb (until Fab returned). We're also not pressing in the same way or with the same intensity, which negates some of his strengths on the other side. I'm not saying he should start, but I don't like the way system issues get lumped on one guy.

Maybe, I thought he was turd like. I suppose in the list of out and out right backs I would say he was worse than the majority for me. Question marked because I had a bit of a freeze thinking of godawful right backs. Carr? I couldn’t think of too many tbh for that position, but my memory is pretty awful these days

Yes, yes he was…I for some reason had him confused with Carl Serrant
-
Edited - I meant to put Carl Serrant! 🤣

My worst NUFC player XI Sels Yedlin? Cacapa Boumsong Serrant Fumaca Maric Smith Riviere S. De Jong Guivarch Subs: Hooper, Marcelino, Ramage, Thauvin, Bassedas, Luque, Xisco Probably missed loads, but these are based on memories of just hopeless performances

I think the players we overpaid for would be: Wood, Targett, Hall Possibly overpaid for: Tonali, Isak, Burn, Gordon Got value from: Bruno, Botman, Pope regardless of how well they have done since
-
1/10. Cack.
-
I think Gordon has the football IQ to play effectively on the right. I also think a three of Barnes, Isak and Gordon can be really flexible. All can take up different positions, I think it could be very exciting. However, I would love to see a RW signed (and a CB and a DM).

Owt actually happening or just pages and pages of nothing?
-
Aye fuck a loan to help those trolls
-
I think the way the team is shaping up, I think we’re more likely to be progressing from the wings in terms of carrying the ball. I also think we’re likely to shift to threatening down the left too. Tripps is elite on his day and I agree with the poster that said we missed his control and game management, but I think Hall will eventually do what KT has done except down the left.

He grafted his arse off like, love him.
-
He’s gone lads
-
We’ve been bollocks and that probably was a red. We are completely ragged.
-
He was good today. Looks a handful and really hungry.
-
Given Trippier Schar Woodgate Bernard Bruno Lee Speed HBA Ginola Shearer Subs: Pope, Colo, Enrique, Cabaye, Beardsley, Solano, Isak Manager: Keegan
-
Boumsong was a joke as well mind moreso considering the fee
-
Fumaca, Sels, Hamilton, Rivière, Smith all utterly hopeless
-
Think the third kit is a belter and will be a retro classic

Like getting a divorce and smashing a class lass years younger.

Is it madness? If there is the PSR headroom and we aren’t getting big offers for him, why chase him? A new contract though, that’s the bit that would be mad. Edit - unless it’s on significantly reduced salary and short term
