Genuinely pleased for Palace. Nowt against the current crest but it does need a revamp. It’s very much of it’s time (late 80s when football clubs got a serious hard-on for shields), and it’s a lot more intricate than most of those that remain for that period. They just need to modernise the 70s magpie crest. Of the ones we’ve had it conforms most closely to modern design sensibilities, and it’s fucking mint.

The problem wasn’t getting rid of Robson - I do think his race was run and things had got a bit stale - it was how cack handed Shepherd managed the entire situation. Cut his knees off from under him with the whole ‘last year’ shite and then when he finally had the bottle to sack him he had a shortlist of one manager who was available, willing and (most importantly for Freddie) British.

It was so fucking egregious too. What’s the point of linesmen if they’re not pulling that basic stuff up?
