  1. I’d be looking up the definition of ‘next’ if I were you.

    Nick Pope

The evening Pope got injured we were three points behind City who were in second.
  3. Aye. Made a couple of good saves which masked the fact he flapped at virtually everything that came into the box. He played a further 7 games that season, conceding 18.
  4. Kept goal like he’d never seen a football before.
  5. Nothing we didn’t know. The man had more air miles than Judith Chalmers.

    St James' Park

People checking their accas is bad enough. Think I’d have leaned over and chucked her phone onto the pitch

    St James' Park

These aren’t new things. I remember some absolutely dreadful times during the Rafa years. Had to stop going to the matches for a period because I just argued with pricks around me who’d fuck around on their phones non-stop and only look up to tear a strip off someone for misplacing a pass.

    Match Atmosphere

Yep, it’s not going to get resolved without the club making themselves unpopular and shuffling people around. You only really need a couple of areas where people persistently sing to drastically improve the atmosphere.
  9. As in daft. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it but it looked like he nearly snapped his own neck. Laughed out loud when I saw it on the replay.
  10. It looked absolutely ridiculous man
  11. No. Ashley gives him the same short shrift and we end up with some absolute chancer like Owen Coyle.
  12. Probably not. Feels like the Emirates and Wembley really changed the idea of what a modern football stadium could be but they opened more than a decade after Castle Leazes was being pushed. We’d have probably got something that was modern, practical and very nice to look at but not a driver of huge commercial revenue.
  13. Robson after Keegan is the obvious one. I think a lot of the Ashley/Man City owner stuff is bollocks. The timelines never add up. There was definitely interest from the ME that Ashley scuppered but it was from other groups after Man City had already been taken over.
  14. Why does Bruno - one of the classiest players we’ve ever had - take a penalty like he’s never seen one before, only had them described to him?
  15. Likewise. Fair enough, he’s a bit of a square peg because of how threadbare the midfield has been but he’s been horrendous tonight.
  16. Strange take, considering we’ve got Miguel Almiron.
  17. Delighted to report she had a mint time. Massive smiles at the end when we got the winner. I get the feeling we’ll definitely be back. My first time going to see a lasses match. The entire atmosphere around the game is really refreshing. Just relentless positivity and everyone having a nice time.
  18. She’s not usually that bothered by loud noises, I just think she didn’t expect everyone around her to lose their minds
  19. Taking the daughter tomorrow. Her only previous matchday experience she burst into tears when we scored because of the noise. Hoping that the lasses game is a bit more sedate.
  20. xG has had me teetering on the edge, but if we’re going to start treating the hiring and firing administrative staff like actual footballers I’m going to go full #AMF. “He’s best in the league at Excel formulas” Fuck off. Take me back to crumbling terraces, football specials and racism.
  21. The odd thing is he’s always been at pains to point out his job is not player identification, it’s to sit in the centre of everything and ensure there’s a coherent structure and strategy across the club. He obviously has some influence in that space, but the fact he didn’t arrive here only for us to immediately start hoovering up £4m wunderkids from under Brighton’s nose is probably a good indication that he’s a pretty peripheral figure when it comes to transfers. Nickson leaving will be a bigger deal in that area.
  22. We’d struggle to get £20m for most of the playing squad
