  1. I too thought he was good last night. Still wanted to take people on but certainly is more focused on passing the ball, set up a chance for Bruno and could have had a number of assists really.
  2. Think he will have a point to prove, also with Brazil getting a new manager it’s kind of a fresh slate so he will want to impress the new boss coming in.
  3. I’m sorry but Maddison is not ‘very strong on one foot and very weak on the other’. I’m pretty sure he’s scored against us from outside the box with both his right and left foot.
  4. Think we will sign Harrison Ashby in Jan from West Ham. Apparently he has turned down further contract offers from them so they want to get some money in Jan for him
  5. I really hope he goes straight into the coaching team when he retires
  6. His first touch is consistently so good
  7. I don’t mind it on the whole, but I think our time wasting sometimes is too obvious and will backfire eventually. However I was so pumped up at full time and was wishing Burn would spark Havertz out so I’m all for it haha

Hope he sees out his career here
  9. Feels so strange to see us as favourites with the bookies against one of the ‘big boys’
  10. We recently played Man U, Everton & Spurs in a 7 day period with minimal rotation if I remember correctly. No reason why we won’t see pretty much the same 11 (maybe 1/2 changes) tomorrow and Saturday before a long break.
  11. I read on Twitter that this is not televised anywhere in the world, does anyone know if that is correct?
  12. Listening to the bit about his interview for the job, and him saying how he would develop players and improve them. The owners must be buzzing with their choice after seeing how he has developed Joelinton, Almiron, Krafth etc

Really trying to keep my feet on the ground but personally, based on our form and the form of other teams, I’d be disappointed if we finished lower than 7th this season now.

Not a great game today but important to remember he is still only 22, still hasn’t tasted defeat for us and has been a big part of our form this season.

Harsh on Krafth, he is a capable back up now

A key factor in our chase for Europe will be how we fare against the ‘big 6’ we are trying to overtake. so far it’s been good, 1 win, 2 draws and 1 (unfair) loss. chelsea to come in 2 weeks, on current form I fancy us to get 3 points from that at home.

Can’t think of too many teams who have 2 starting CB’s who are both so good on the ball
  18. Right wing has massively dropped down the priority order now. Get another top class midfielder first
  19. From my perspective, I had little to no knowledge of anything to do with Saudi Arabia prior to our takeover, ever since we have been linked to PIF to this day I am constantly seeing tweets and articles about their human rights records etc, so for me the sports washing argument doesn’t hold up because all the takeover has done so far is continually highlight the negatives of the country. If they sold us and went away, I imagine most of the media coverage we have seen (which has mainly been from sports journalists anyway) would stop and therefore Saudis negatives wouldn’t be spoken about. I also feel that if PIF had bought a ‘big 6’ club, we wouldn’t have seen as much coverage. Plenty of clubs have dodgy owners already, so it doesn’t make it right but on the flip side why should we take the moral high ground and miss out? I don’t even know how to sum up my view really. Do I agree with how Saudi Arabia is as a country? No. Do I think they are more likely to change by being involved in Western businesses and football clubs? Yes Would I be fuming if these protests led to PIF selling up to a group that wasn’t wealthy? Yes I think there is so much shit going on in the world, including our own country now with this shambles of a government, that I find it very easy to just not care about a lot of things. Newcastle United is one of the things I care about a lot, and I want us to be the best and win things and I can quite easily put that above my morals, rightly or wrongly.
