60M+ 5M then it would seem. That's obviously ridiculous. But that could easily be the difference between having a very good season and having a shit season. So I'm fine with it, would be great to see him sign before Monday but that's obviously unlikely.
-
Shame that Frimpong is out actually. He wasn't great against Bournemouth, left alot of space. If it's Bradley then I know he's young but he's decent defensively.
-
I'd be fine with £60M, not sure about the + bit on the end. Wouldn't want to be paying £70/75M that's for sure.
-
I think that may have come off the back of a couple of twitter posts from people joking about what "BlueCo" have done and how we should do the same but we can't because the Premier League would stop it immediately.
-
The thing is, if let's say Hoijlund somehow signed for us the summer before the takeover happened and Howe joined. I've got no doubt he'd be twice the player is right now. For example, we'd have never signed Almiron or Murphy post takeover but because they were already here Howe did what he did and got them performing to a more than acceptable level. He could do that with Hoijlund, but I'd rather not do it FOR Man Utd, they shouldn't gain anything from us having him, so it would need to be a loan to buy and that's just not going to happen.
-
If it's Hoijlund or nobody then obviously yes I would have him for a season. But the fact that's even possible is quite absurd and a big kick in the face.

Please internet, can I have some striker rumours now?

Ideally yes. But he is literally at the centre of everything right now and will be even more so by Monday, I feel like ignoring him/it would be impossible so you may as well lean into it. -
Gives him Isak's locker at the ground as well, he deserves to have two.
-
I'd rather a player we might not need. Where's Gillespie? Stick him RW in added time to snap Salah.

Burns quote from after the Villa game would make a great banner. "Nobody has done anything at this club, without each other." -
Whoever runs that "NUFC Transfer Room" Twitter feed is a complete and total freak. Absolutely unhinged self butthole licking going on there. Not seen anything like it 😂
-
Oh yeah? I wonder why? 🤔 Change that 3 to a 4 and perhaps theyd accept? I'd prefer him to Wissa tbh. Wilson replacement but can certainly get better and has age on his side.
-
Yes and Elanga as well actually. None of them strike me as aggressive players who would get a sly one in or anything like that.
-
And Schar and Gordon and Tripps. There's genuinely only three players who I am NOT worried about losing their shit and doing something stupid. I know it doesn't actually happen often but I get the feeling the atmosphere might cause some head loss.

I really would like to see that "rat 4 sale" flag made up by someone. Not from Wor Flags though but I'm sure somebody could get it done. Someone posted an Ai version of it on here but can't find it to repost it. -
I get the point but I don't agree with it tbh. As much as that might seems like taking the high road it's also cowardly, like we're trying to not hurt his feelings or something. We've done nothing but show him love and appreciation since he signed and he's thrown that all away. Bu funnily enough I had a similar thought, but it was in regards to the reception he'd get if he ever played for us again. People would boo his name being read out or when he touched the ball of even if he actually scored I think. But what about just silence? No booing, no jeering, just silence when he's on the bal or scores or he gets subbed on.
-
If he can play in midfield then he can play up top as well, give him the number 9 and be done with it. Fabian Schar, Newcastle's new striker.
-
That's got to be the 8th or 9th time in the last two weeks I've heard a journalist say that the Wissa deal will be done or moving forward in the next 24hrs. It's astonishing how wrong they can be so often in such a short space of time.
-
That statement does nothing but fuel the fire and draw even larger divisions between the player and the club/fans. If he's worded that himself then there's truly no way back for him and that's fine by me. It only prompts more questions as well, specifically about the broken promises. I'm sure we can all have few guesses as to what they were. But why be vague about it? Just say it, why not at this point just say what they were.
-
It absolutely is, he does not guarantee goals like a lot of people think. Last season was a very good season for him but it's actually more of an anomaly than a regular occurrence. He is worth more to Brentford than to us, that's why they are asking for £50M, he is not worth that. I hope we get it done also, but if we pay any more than £40M then Brentford have truly had out pants down for a player that MIGHT score 15 goals for us this season in the league and will have almsot zero sell on value in 2/3 years time

The ramifications that has a year or two down the line is too big. Look at Villa now, gambled on big players on big wages and now they'll be losing atleast one more before the window and very unlikely to bring anyone in. We think we had it hard last summer losing Elliot and Minteh, if we start doing deals like this we'll be in serious trouble when we don't qualify for UCL again next year.

Well that's one off the list of "never going to happen anyways" then.
