Hahah Goodman is absolutely gutted about that! Lovely stuff.
-
Don Goodman is the absolute worst. Been running Birmingham all night. Why do they put him on games where's he's just going to be so blatantly bias.
-
I don't think we have a choice. Wasn't it an obligation to buy rather than an option?
-
Training with the first team and playing for the U21s might do him some good for this season and then see where he's at next summer or even in January if he's ready for a loan. I think we might all be getting a little ahead of ourselves because we're desperate for some good news.
-
Not sure why Chelsea would be behind this. This doesn't help them really. If clubs know he wants to leave then Chelsea will have far less power as the selling club when it comes to negotiating. All this does for Chelsea is alert clubs he's available for sale and they all knew that anyway.

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

Seung-Soo looks to be playing himself into the squad or purely just there to keep some players fresh for tomorrow. -
Was this an attempt from the club to saturate the media with links to 3/4 different strikers in an attempt to get the one we actually want without any resistance? Romano fucking it up ofcourse. There's must be some truth to it, unless PSG were the ones behind it to try and force Juve into speeding up the deal.
-
Yes I know he's technically coming in to replace Wilson. But that doesn't mean if there wasn't a player available identical to Wissa that we couldn't also go for him as well, rather than trying for Ekitike/Sesko/Pedro who we were always on the backfoot for.
-
But we'd end up with a better squad than we ended last season with. Any combination of Wissa & Samu/Muani/Ramos/Jackson would be better than Isak and Wilson IMO. Ramsdale and Pope is better than Pope and Dubs. Elanga is an upgrade on not having a RW to rival Murphy. Thiaw would be an upgrade on Lascelles/Krafth and can rival Schar. Rudoni or Taylor is an upgrade on Longstaff. The biggest problem is that these players are coming in so late in the window they'll never be up to speed by the time Villa and Liverpool come around.
-
Well the harm is exactly what's happened up to this point, we've taken too long to do anything. If Wissa was interested he could've been halfway to Saudi Arabia last week and we'd have missed out on another player.
-
I'd say it's the age thing mostly, coupled with the fact Wissa feels like a utility forward more than anything else. If they were the same age we'd have far more competition to sign him.
-
I'd absolutely take Gallagher over Rudoni but I just don't see that as being realistic. He'd cost more for one thing, and there's no incentive for him to move really, unless he's already homesick. All those I listed would only be signing under the assumption that Isak leaves. Otherwise it's probably just Wissa and Thiaw, maybe CM if we are very lucky.
-
Unpopular opinion? This is the level of signing we should've been going for from the start. Hindsight perhaps has a big influence on that statement but I think it's certainly true.
-
How many more relatives does Howe have? Any cousins around that can fill the roles?
-
I don't like doing this because it seems so pie in the sky but if we can get: Wissa Samu Thiaw Rudoni All in the next 3 weeks, that would almost make up for the farce that has preceded it. Feels like that would be basically impossible though knowing how it's gone so far. There's always some stumbling block that pops up along the way You'd think Rudoni would be straightforward as well as Wissa, if Brentford can sign a couple of forwards. Thiaw feels like we'll have to overpay if we want to get it done any time soon. Same goes for Samu as well, but arguably considering his age and position that's well worth doing.
-
Really unsure about this. He's never really hit the heights that were expected, perhaps because his career was stunted by his move to PSG.
-
No, but Senegal and DR Congo are. That's why I said ONE of, meaning if we go for some combination of Jackson and/or Wissa and someone else.
-
I think it basically comes from Watkins being unhappy last season at Villa because he wasn't starting. So people put two and two together. He's under contract till 2028 so he'd have to want to move and Villa would need another striker to let it happen you'd think.
-
That's a better combo than Jackson and Wissa. My personal choice would actually be Watkins and Samu. Two different styles , two different ends of their career and one of them won't be off to AFCON. Also I'd rather give Villa money (and weaken them) over giving Chelsea money (and not weakening them). Hard to know whether Watkins and Samu would even be possible, close to £100M for those two you'd think.
-
You'd have to think there's some trigger for journalists to be confident enough to put out a statement like that. Especially with Ornstein, no reason for him to make this particular story up, unlike certain other things he's said this summer.
-
There's no time for "considering". Make a bid or speak to his agent and if you aren't doing either of those things move the fuck on.
-
Sky Sports saying Chelsea want £48M and Romano saying they want £80M. I wonder why he would say such a thing?! *Money* 😂
