Not really about Leipzig anymore though. It's about Sesko now. We're clearly willing to pay what the club wants but we are waiting for Sesko to agree to it now. Can't wait around forever though, if he hasn't decided by midweek, we need to move on and go for the next target.

Tomorrow must be the day we find out one way or another surely. They've had plenty of time now.

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

I reckon I'm going to put a couple of quid on a Joelinton red card every game this season. Will pay for itself quite quickly I think. -

Obviously. But we actually have a game today so there's more chance of a win than a signing. -

And he'd be worth it, because of what I just said. He'd have a sell on value five years down the line where'd you could get a good chunk of that back. Whereas right now, at 28, he does not. At least not if we pay £40/50M for him. This is why Brentford will only sell for a fee way over anything sensible that a club would want to pay for him.

I don't doubt it's possible from a PSR/budget point of view. If Wissa was four years younger and would have a resale value at the end of his five(?) year contract with us I would say it's more likely, because they'd know they could recoup some of that three or four years down the line. With the other positions that need filling I just don't see us spending £110-£120M on two strikers. A CB will be £30-£40 minimum and probably similar for a CM. Taking the low end of those guesses and we'd be at (incl Elanga and Ramsdale) over £220M spend this window. I think that impossible unfortunately.
-
That's the risk you take though. We did the same with Isak. We're spending £70M on him, can't see any way we then spend £40/£50M on Wissa as well. If they were the only two players we needed this summer then yeah, but when we still need another CB and CM as a bare minimum, I just don't see how it's possible.

Sounds like what we offered him tbh. I imagine he'll get more chances at West Ham though. Fulkrug is no spring chicken either.
-
I'd be very happy if that were the case but I'd be truly shocked if we end the window with Sesko AND Wissa. I'd also be shocked to us end it with Sesko AND Isak. Isak and Wissa is definitely possible but if we spend big on Sesko I reckon we'll have to go a bit safer/cheaper for a Wilson replacement.
-
Sesko and Wissa is better than Isak and Wilson. Not sure we get Wissa as well as Sesko though, that would be very expensive.

That Slovenia team were poor and played a dog shit 11 men behind the ball game at the Euros. Wouldn't judge him on that alone.

Today feels like the day we hear some news. One way or another at least.

Isak has really screwed this situation up. He had the opportunity to just not act like a prick about this and if he'd stayed this season we'd have all loved him for it, then could've gone anyway next summer. But instead he's made it obvious he wants to go ASAP, so now if he doesn't go he'll be shit on a stick to a lot of our fans this season.

We really need that first domino to fall. I thought it was Elanga but turns out it definitely wasn't. Sesko or Wissa or even Guehi/Scalvini might be one to kickstart something this summer. Bit too fucking late though either way. Can't blame people at the club for not seeing this Isak mess coming but you can absolutely blame them for the way everything else around them has fallen apart.

Romano is a real ratty little cunt nowadays isn't he. This ITK bullshit language he's now using is turgid stuff.

Yeah that weird thin striped/heartbeat monitor one.

20/21 was definitely worse and I'd also say 21/22 as well.

Don't know why the big negative reaction to the away shirt. It's fine, we've had worse in the last five years that's for sure.
