Even if that's true. The manager isn't the club, he's not deciding how much they sell players for or even if they do sell players. Especially at a club like Brighton. Hell get told who's going and who's coming and have to deal with it. That's how they make it work there and Brentford as well.

The main thing that puts me off Pedro is how much Brighton will want and partly the fact we could've already had him here for far less. They quoted £90M for Mitoma a few weeks ago. They'll want close to that for Pedro. Not worth it at all.

I reckon Beto could be gone in the summer, he's been better under Moyes but he won't be scoring Everton the amount of goals they'll need. Could easily see them cutting their losses. Mateta is different though yes, but Palace will need another striker and you'd think Delap has more chance against Mateta than Isak.

I don't see Delap going to Chelsea and being first choice all season. If he goes there in the next week or so it'll only be a few more weeks until they are bringing in Seko/Gyokores/Vlahovic and he'll be on the bench again anyway. Bad move from him, he'd genuinely be better of going to Everton or Palace rather than Chelsea or Man Utd right now.

Enough managers seem to rate him highly (Southgate, Tuchel, Glasner, Hodgson, Howe) that I'll take their word for it. I imagine he's just one of rhose players that you need to be watching every week to be able to see what he provides and does for the team. Seeing him twice a season againat Newcastle and a couple of times against shit opposition for England may not always give the best impression.

Fernandes staying or going is lose lose for them. If he stays, they've missed out on a massive (£80M+) chunk of money that they desperately need but if he goes they lose their best player of the last five years and will not be able to replace what he produces for them even with the cash they get for him.

Depends who else Palace sell and who they sign. Eze is wanted by a few clubs as is Wharton, if they keep both of them and add a couple they'll have a good season, but losing either, especially Eze will be a massive loss.

Absolutely no reason why club officials wouldn't read this forum. It's an easily accessible seemingly genuine (for the most part) source to a small portion of the fan base. They may read it but actually using quotes from it at official meetings seems a bit ridiculous.

But that isn't the choice that we have to make. No goalkeeper we sign is going to be chucking the ball in the net, any of them would be of an extremely high standard of shot stopping. It's not just line breaking passes that Pope can't do, if that was his only issue that would actually not be so bad. But there's a big hole in his game when the ball is at his feet. His first touch is pretty poor, it takes him far to long to get the ball under control, he's incapable of lofting a ball out wide to a winger or fullback and his long kicking is some of the most inaccurate in the league. It's not like he saves every shot that comes at him, if he did, these flaws would be worth the downsides, but he's not that good you can overlook everything else. I like Pope, I feel as if I'm having a go at him and becoming a bit "old man shouts at cloud" talking about how goalkeepers need to be able to use their feet but he's in the very same boat as players like Lascelles and Longstaff for me, excellent players for our club, undeniably still capable of playing Premier League football, they've been part of some of the greatest moments and seasons we've ever had, but you can't hold onto the them just because it's easy to do so. He has to go for his own good and ours.

It is possible to actually sign a goalkeeper that's good with his feet and a good shot stopper as well. It's doesn't have to be just one or the other. We aren't great at keeping hold of the ball amongst the 10 outfield players as it is, we desperately need a GK that helps us retain the ball as much as possible. When you play against Arsenal/Liverpool/City or even Villa and Brighton you're at an immediate disadvantage because their keepers are like an extra outfield player in build up or when teams press their defence. We can't do that at all and that needs to change next season.

I mean let's be honest, with SIX teams in the Champions League now, if there isn't one English team in the final that's a huge failure as a nation.
