  1. Aye, but historically they had the greatest ever throwing the ? and the greatest coach to ever grace the game... Rant from @Shak in 3... 2... 1... I'm glad I'm not in swinging distance
  2. Maguire comes in for a lot of unfair stick. He has weaknesses, for sure. Slow decision making, a lack of pace, and not phenomenal on the ball to name three. Still a good player for the right team. But I don't see how he fits our playing style. He's too slow for our high back line and I don't see him making the diagonal balls Schar is capable of (i.e. pass to Joelinton Vs Spurs). I think the next CB we bring in will be quicker and will come in for Schar when we are facing certain opposition.
  3. 192,000€ a week, if you believe the internet...
  4. Nee chance in my.opinion. He won't give up on the record to go there.. If he goes abroad, it's Madrid or maybe Barca. Don't think Bayern would tempt him, too.
  5. Made me uneasy too but we need a CB. One injury to either Schar or Botman and we're screwed.
  6. Scary to think our bench options (of note) would be: Dubravka Burn Schar Targett Longstaff ASM Gordon Anderson Murphy Almiron Wilson
  7. Invite the winner to the end of season do I'm apparently organising for @Rich if it's Big Joe, we can get him a taxi back
  8. I only wish I could be in Newcastle mate!! Happy to arrange an end of season piss up though?
  9. Good signing. Takes Burn from LB and technically gives us a 2nd choice LB and 4th choice CB. Still seeing us bringing in #2/3 choice CB to compete with Schar. Wouldn't be surprised if Lascelles and Targett are moved on...
  10. With Top 4 and CL all but confirmed, it's time to break the cheque book out. Time for 5-6 quality signings and 2-3 outgoings.
  11. You're all forgetting Joselu. He's a starter for Spain
  12. BBC reporter after asking questions about Champions League (and Eddie refusing to bite twice). "How close do you need to be Eddie before we get you to talk about it (CL)?" "When it's done, then I'll talk about it for fun". What a lad.
  13. Aye and Cisse's purple patch after joining us was a fun 8-9 games. Golden. Still my favourite song to sing on the terrace too Wilson certainly had consistency on his side.
  14. He has Ba and Cisse as the closest competition....?
  15. We are on 69 points after 36 games. If Liverpool win, they go to 68 points with 37 played. We would need a win to be 100% sure. If Man Utd then lose, they are 66 points after 36 played. With our far superior GD (25 up) we're effectively 4 points clear of Man Utd. They'd have to win their final 2 to get 72 and we'd have to get 3 points, same as we need now. So nothing really changes. Liverpool lose, it's over. They get a point Vs Villa, they'd be on 66 points and we would need 1 point.
  16. Personally I'd prefer it if the FA deported him Seriously though, I think a touchline ban is just that? A ground ban is when they can't attend?

    Joe Willock

Great season. Really big player for us this year. Deserves a lot of credit. Heal well!!

    Joelinton

Mind games no way Big Joe gives his spot up. His leg would have to be hanging off
  19. Edit: @Astroblack No he hasn't and I think he's won 13/15 cup finals. Imagine sacking him before one
  20. Pretty sure about 3-4 weeks ago, for 3 games on the bounce his subs were directly involved in match winning goals
  21. Some people blaming Pope and Burn for that goal is laughable. Decent save from point blank range, and almost made the rebound with his leg. Burn had about 3 men on the back stick because Isak and whoever out of Willock, Bruno or Big Joe didn't track their man back. Trippier was poor allowing the cross in too. But easy to blame a bloke stood between three players

  23. Shocking today, as much as I love him.
