I can understand people thinking that it should be a handball, but I cant understand people thinking the refs are out to get them just because they are following the very simple rules. There really is no arguing whether the goal should stand based on the current rules. Was it accidental? Yes Was his hand in a natural position? Yes Did the same player score the goal directly after the "handball"? No Easy as that.

I dont think its fair to compare Murphy to Almiron and think its just him having a purple patch. I think he is much more reliable and steadily improving. Just look at the stats of goals+assists. Murphy: 22/23 1 pr every 200mins 23/24 1 pr every 120mins 24/25 1 pr every 110mins Almiron: 21/22 1 pr every 1700mins 22/23 1 pr every 200mins 23/24 1 pr every 500mins Sure alot of Murphys goal points have come in patches, but thats true for most players. Yeah maybe he lacks abilities in the build up play, but its not like he is a luxury player who doesnt put in the work either. If we can bring in Mbeumo for a fair price then go ahead, but I really doubt that we can achieve that.

Yeah I also think I prefer Dubs with his ball playing abilities, just adds another dimension to our game. Getting a new GK probably should take priority this summer. Will always love Pope though, major part of us getting that 4th place, but its time to move on.
