From the match thread, I think he’s a player that is okay when the side is on the front foot and can play to his strengths (ball in behind, play for his pace basically). But when the game becomes more complicated than that he struggles, his work rate is decent but there’s not enough industrious quality there to usually make the most of it. Hes a decent squad player and has moments of quality in front of goal, an okay option for certain opponents..

Exactly this I think, seen a few ‘heads been turned’ posts.. on the surface he doesn’t seem that type of character at all. A very ambitious lad who won’t be the sort to put in half hearted performances at any time, he probably needs a real rest but our wide options won’t allow it. The energy we got used to just isn’t there right now.

Murphy doesn’t handle being on the back foot of a game well, he isn’t the player you want to bring in when chasing or trying to see out a game. Hes looking extremely out of his depth here.

That Everton loss is incredible, hilarious stuff. That squad is absolutely terrible in PL terms, I think Dyche is just about getting the most out of them with his style. They sit deep and attempt to avoid transitions as much as possible and yet those players still looked fucked at 70/80 mins

He’s such a good player and importantly a different type of midfielder than the others we have, he’s had a blip in his fitness record now and let’s hope it just stays as that because he’s a diamond of a player for us. I honestly think Howe would start a fit Willock over anyone else as one of the front two in our current system.

I wasnt sure what to expect after such a long lay off from playing a competitive match, he showed his quality and character tonight.
