Absolutely. Think about the squad in the last CL season. Good starting 11, but no depth at all. Already this season we have so many more options from the bench, and Howe already seems far more comfortable managing players minutes knowing that.

Example he used was Raya to Arsenal. There was no actual obligation in the contract, as Arsenal didn't have the PSR headroom. It's absolutely wild that for every transfer we have attempted this Summer, both the ones that came off and the ones that didn't, we've had a blow by blow on every bid going in. Yet on this one we haven't heard about it till the negotiations are all done. Just goes to show what can be done with a decisive player who has an agent that is actually there to facilitate what they want. Rather than do everything they can to get random bidding wars going.

I think you're vastly underestimating the level of the PL. If it were that easy to hit double figures way more players would be doing it. I get what you're saying in that he clearly wasn't first on the list. But we are probably talking about two different lists, knowing what we know now. There was the 'Isak replacement' list. Pedro, Ekitike, Sesko. Then there's the 'Wilson replacement' list. I think as this window has gone on with the level of uncertainty a separate category has emerged of lads who could potentially be both. I think that's what they may see this lad as.
