  1. Sounds like they are not abolishing FMV completely, not surprising
  2. Have we been linked with Yohan Bakayoko? Left-footed RW, right age profile. Will have 18 months left on contract in January.
  3. 100% That's why it expired a week before the transfer window closed - if nobody triggered it, it gave us a week to plug the PSR gap.
  4. For the "project" we could really do with playing in Europe next season. Last season was tough for a variety of reasons but England missing out on that 5th CL place and Man City's abject performance in the FA Cup Final can be put down to bad luck to an extent. However, assuming 7th (or possibly even 8th?) could be enough I don't think it's unfair to say that's the target. This is the third full season, we've spent good money, we've not lost any of our star players. Plus, pretty much every one of our rivals in playing in Europe this season, with all the pressures that brings.
  5. Especially as you're either going to have a massively reduced capacity for an extended period, or have to pay someone to play at their ground, or build a (temporary?) stadium/extension somewhere else.
  6. Very frustrating. We've spent a lot of money, we apparently had another £50m+ to spend on Guehi, and here we are talking about lack of quality/end product. I'm not sure who said it earlier in the thread but we haven't been a good team for quite a while, at least not a consistent one.
  7. Milligan, Cleese, Everett....Sessions
  8. Yes of course but in order to finish with enough points to end up in the top six winning games like this is quite important
  9. If a draw wouldn't be a decent result for Villa, Spurs etc it's not a decent result for us. A top 6 team should come here and win.
  10. UEFAs rule is that if it's open or closed at KO it has to stay that way unless there's a weather/safety issue. I can't find anything about what the rules are for PL games though. A retractable roof would be class like.
  11. "Hi it's Darren. I've got an idea of how I want the new stadium to look. Now, hear me out..."
  12. Assuming that website @Kid Icarus linked to is accurate, they're pretty much identical other than Spurs being more oval versus MB's circular shape. https://joshuahhh.com/projects/same-scale/#17.57/51.604055/-0.066421/33.755322/-84.400658/Satellite
  13. Marvel at my elite MS Paint and Google Map skills
  14. You could do that by building further North/West and stay at SJP without having to demolish any of it, that's the point. There's enough room there to build a new stadium without having to encroach on the current site and without having to remove any of the main features of Leazes Park (the Bandstand, the lake etc)
  15. Therein lies the problem. You can't take that out. I don't doubt that their ownership would be up for it and it'd be by miles the easiest option for us, but that hurdle isn't going to be overcome.
  16. Absolutely no chance we'd be allowed to ship 50k Newcastle fans into Sunderland every other week imo. If they're building a new stadium surely they'd do it just far enough away from SJP so that they didn't create the "where do we play in the meantime" problem?
  17. The Almiron one was exactly the sound you'd expect after 20 years of waiting for a Champions League goal. Perfection.
  18. I'd say it essentially guarantees it. There's no way all 20 clubs keep quiet.
  19. If the verdict had been fully in favour of Man City, they'd have to tell the other clubs. You can't have only one being privy to a change in the sponsorship rules and not the other 19.
  20. It was definitely de-listed well before but I think the council wanted the facade to be retained. The original designs for East Pilgrim Street included it, back around 2007ish. Then as you say, it...fell down...
  21. The Odeon was listed, until it was left to ruin and then de-listed. Carliol House was listed, now it's a 3m thick wall. I'd like to think there is an opportunity to develop on some of Leazes Park without having to demolish any of the key structures or fill in the pond (I'm no more a fan of doing that than I am demolishing the buildings on Leazes Terrace) but I personally think it's naive to suggest that if they really want to stick a stadium on there, it's listed status would save it.
  22. Perhaps the supporter in question has had no success in the ballot and is currently just as likely to see his/her team play in the flesh if they had a fancy stadium on the Moon? If the new ground was 5min walk further North, would it still be "the greatest ground location in the country"? Or does that ⅓ of a mile make all the difference?
