He would be the antithesis of everything that made the signings of Isak, Bruno & Botman so exciting. I wouldn't take him even if he played for free and I don't think Eddie would either.

That was a cracking shirt, aside from Wonga obviously

I'd love to see a Hummel take on our home kit. Chevrons

I actually quite like both the 21/22 and 22/23 shirts (reservations about Castore aside) but both are ruined by the sponsor. The problem Puma has was the material felt flimsy and cheap. I don't know whether the current Adidas/Nike/whoever shirts are any better of course.

He does raise a valid point that having new owners shouldn't necessarily put an end to the aim of fan representation, although I'd like to think that NUST (etc) are going to give the current owners a chance to make moves in that area before trying to force their way in.

So 40% of them either think it should go ahead, don't care or only think it should be stopped because it gives their "rivals" some ammo

They're not even allowed to bet on games in a competition their team is playing in. A breach could also be passing on information that wouldn't be otherwise publicly available.

35 breaches for Barton - 18 month ban and the FA said that was the "shortest possible" ban they could have given. Toney is being charged with nearly seven times that

In proper business they are two different things but I think the term is essentially interchangeable when it comes to football. I guess they are going to provide all the flights etc for the KSA trip so its more of a "partnership" rather than purely a sponsorship arrangement (eg we'll give you money and you stick our logo on something)

Such an exciting transfer strategy. Obviously they aren't all going to come off but building a squad of 18-23 year olds in the £15‐30m range means even the ones who don't quite make it you can potentially sell for a FFP "profit" (like we've seen with Man City recently). The idea of Botman, Perrone, Bruno, Kuol, Isak being the core of a top quality squad is

There are three certainties in life. 1. Death 2. Taxes 3. A Luke Edwards article about Newcastle's diminished spending power in the upcoming transfer window

Unsurprisingly, UK still cosying up to KSA

Lamptey is a great shout. Injury record would be a serious concern but with the talent he has, you'd take the risk if it's a reasonable fee.

Yeah the "1-0 to the Saudi boys" definitely got an airing where I was sat not long after we scored. Hadn't heard the chant from Chelsea, they were fairly quiet after about 20mins once they realised how the game was going.
-
Came off the bench at 2-0 down, won a penalty, scored the penalty then scored that screamer and they went on to win 3-2. Nice.
-
It's probably also for fans. If you don't even get a full season out of your £65 home shirt...
-
If we keep doing it in pairs, by the end of next season we'll be inviting Laurent Charvet and Carl Serrant

Amazing It's like all the shit Twitter ITKs rolled into one and posting on this very forum

Yes, quite so...

Best performance in ages. MOTM even without the goal imo.

Looking at those 2023 contracts - I think Shelvey has an extension to 2024 linked to playing a certain number of games. Can't remember the details but it wasn't many. The others have barely played a minute between them and must be costing £100k-£150k/week.

I assume that's the salary cap thing isn't it?

It's a mad situation but anyone we sign is going to have to be pretty good to dislodge any of our current starting XI. I'm not even sure where Isak is going to fit in when he's back. I guess I need to get away from thinking about a "Starting XI" - which for a number of years was a few nailed-on starters and 8-9 who I thought very little of and didn't care whether they played or not. If we're going to compete on multiple fronts we really need 18-20 players who are all good enough to start, plus 5-7 squad players who you wouldn't want to rely on but are good enough to come in during cup games or cover short-term injury/suspension.
