Finding someone clearly better than Schar w/ our budget is virtually impossible. He is playing very well right now. Finding someone who can be a back-up and develop into a Fabian Schar is not nearly as difficult. The option we need to be clearly better than the starter is RW and that is also not going to be very difficult given where Miggy is and where he is heading. I feel like we can be older on the back line than we can in the right and left wings.

Just buy Noni Madueke for the RW and let him cover the striker position as well. Sell Miggy to a Saudi club.

Gordon/Barnes on the lw is what we should aspire to for the whole squad. What a difference from the BigJoe/ASM days of very little goal production. This setup also allows AG to run wild and be aggressive knowing there is a great backup that can sub in.

Sandro Tonali (failure because of the ban), Barnes (needed lw backup after ASM left), Livramento (needed), Minteh (big profit and needed), Lewis Hall (needed when Targett failed to recover). Wasn't a terrible window considering Ashworth's double dealing.

Are you sure? I did not get a chance to watch him at AC Milan, but Transfermarkt, FootballCritic, and TotalFootballAnalysis have him playing mainly as a defensive midfielder. I will not worry about our midfield until we sort the RW and CB positions. I think a backup striker is more important as well.
